My Final Semester as a Connect Ahead Intern
As my Connect Ahead Micro Internship comes to an end, I reflect on all that I was able to accomplish. I had the opportunity to improve so many of my professional skills like virtual communication, managing my schedule, and of course helping students find internships. I enjoyed brainstorming with them about what internships could be fit for them. I have thoroughly enjoyed my time connecting with students from NKU that otherwise, I would have not gotten the chance to due to being involved in different majors. I really enjoyed hearing about their plans during and after college. I am so happy I was able to be that friendly reminder that they don’t have to have it all figured out freshman year and to remember to take care of themselves. These were the reminders that I desperately needed early-on in my college career.
????I am going to miss chatting with the students, but I will cherish our conversations and of course being connected with my amazing mentee Jackie. Jackie is incredibly driven and ambitious. She has accomplished so much in just the past year and I could not be more proud of her. She is such an inspiration to me, and I thank the internship program for brining us together. This is such an amazing program that benefits anyone who gets to be involved. I look forward to see how the future mentors and mentees will grow from this program. Its is all about team work.
Brittany, it has a pleasure to have had you as a Mentor in Connect Ahead / Haile Micro Internship for the past year and a half. Your team has made a great impact on many NKU students through Career Path Coaching - THANK YOU for that! Also, you have learned very valuable skills and are set to take on whatever the future holds. Congratulations and good luck - GOOD JOB!!!!! ??
