Have you ever wonder into the Linux world? I did, and I want to share it with you
My Fedora story began in early 2022, thanks to a random video suggestion of the YouTube algorithm with a video of 'The Linux Experiment' about his experience with Fedora Workstation.
For years, since college back in 2005, I flirted with various Linux distributions, notably Ubuntu/Debian. Always an unexpected glitch would remind me of the fragility of my journey, pulling me back to the ugly but yet functional Windows.
Enter Fedora. From the moment of installation, the GNOME Desktop Environment felt like welcoming, simple but yet functional, and full of potential. A bit too plain maybe but that was a start. Over the next few months I adjusted settings, added extensions, and tweaked visuals (I know it's a bit nerdy, but that is something other OS don't allow). The result? An fast and stable environment that truly resonated with my preferences.
To my surprise the system remained resilient and never bricked ( I am honestly surprise, I really torture it quite a lot). For once, the fear of sudden crashes or random bugs that totally destroy your pc seemed distant. But let’s be real: A tiny fragment of Windows persists in my setup, within a VM in KVM, used only for the irreplaceable Excel tasks. I hope for a day when Microsoft Office would run natively on Linux; the online version is great, but still...

(And yes, I'm aware of the many spreadsheet options out there. I tried them all, some of them are decent for the average user, but they just don't meet my professional standards.)
Fedora has redefined my Linux experience, making it a learning and rewarding experience. While many OS options exist, Fedora surprise me for stability combined with the freedom of customization. By sharing this, I hope someone would want to see what Linux is today. I encourage to give it a shot, to explore beyond the familiar landscapes of Microsoft Windows and Apple OSX. You might just discover that there's another formidable player in the field, offering a unique and compelling experience.
