My Favorite “What If?”

Many years ago…many, many years ago…someone whispered that phrase in my ear.

It was uttered by a wonderfully wonderful man, yet an impossible character.

We had just decided to walk away from each other. We knew in our guts we weren’t right for each other.

“You’ll always be my favorite what if.”

Poignant, yet liberating.

It allowed us to move on, to become unstuck, to move from something that really was holding us back, to pursue other dreams more realistic and productive.

It was a great lesson for me. Some wonderful things on the surface should be let go because they are also impossible.

I apply this same liberation to our business.

There are many situations…and occasionally, clients…from whom liberation is actually the best action.

You might feel like the situation or client cannot be shed. The program brings in money. The client pays you…and your bills.

Yet, your gut knows it’s not really right for anyone.

I invite you to trigger a liberation of your own sometime very soon. What do you know in your gut needs to be jettisoned?

Make it your “favorite what if,” and then don’t look back.

Go forth and do great things,

Martha Hanlon and Chris Williams
