Hi Reader,
I've been getting a lot of replies from you all about wanting to hear more about LinkedIn — so that’s exactly what we’re going to cover today!
When I first started posting on LinkedIn, it felt like stepping into a bustling conference room where everyone seemed to know what they were doing except me. I'd spend hours crafting the perfect post, only for it to get lost in the sea of other posts within minutes. It could have been easy to stop posting. But here's the thing - LinkedIn isn't just another social media platform - it's a critical tool for professional growth. Your virtual presence can grab the attention of potential employers, clients, or partners. In fact, I got my job at LinkedIn because of my LinkedIn presence! I’d say it’s a pretty important tool to have in your back pocket.
?? Tip of the Day
To help you navigate this platform with ease, here's a mini action plan to get you going along with some valuable resources you can use:
?? Be real: People crave authenticity. Share personal anecdotes, lessons learned, and behind-the-scenes glimpses into your professional journey. Not sure what to say to get started? I created this FREE LinkedIn Hook Handbook to drive engagement to your content.
? Optimize your profile: A common mistake I see people make on LinkedIn is not taking full advantage of the real estate on their profile. That banner behind your profile picture can be used to share important details about who you are, the skills or services you provide, and so much more! To make it easier for you, I’ve created these free LinkedIn banner templates that you can edit in Canva.
?? Network, network, network: While LinkedIn is more than a social media platform, at its core it still functions like one. Therefore, it’s good practice to make a habit of spending 10 minutes each day commenting on and engaging with others' content and expanding your network. I share my best tips on strategic commenting here .
Remember, boosting your LinkedIn engagement doesn't happen overnight. But with these proven tips and a little bit of patience, you'll be well on your way to a more active and fruitful LinkedIn experience.
I’ll be expanding on building your professional brand in next week’s newsletter, so stick around!
