My Faith & the Sabbath
Hello everyone,
I want to share some thoughts about something that's very important to my faith – the Sabbath day.
I understand that people have different interpretations of scripture, and I respect your right to your own beliefs.
?? A Concept
Think of the relationship between a loving child and their father.
If a child says he loves his Father but sometimes offends his Father due to his lack of discipline, what's your advice?
Should he strive to be better or should he just give up striving?
What if he decides to be a better child but offends his Father again?
Would you laugh at him or encourage him to keep striving?
Certainly, you will encourage him because you know if he keeps trying, he'll certainly become better.
I am that child.
My relationship with God, my Heavenly Father, is central to my life.
He tells me, "If you love me, keep my commandments". I deeply love Him because He first loved me, and my desire is to prove my love.
7?? The Sabbath
My Father has 10 commandments. Many of you know them already.
But there's one in particular He emphasizes to me: "REMEMBER". It's the 4th commandment – the Sabbath.
?? A Point of Confusion
Some people believe His commandments have been abolished, or that the day of the Sabbath has changed.
Yet, it seems that we still consider many of these commandments as important – it's wrong to steal, to commit adultery, to kill, etc.
From my perspective, singling out the 4th commandment feels inconsistent.
His Word tells me “For I am the LORD, I change not;"

?? What is Grace, Then?
His grace is a powerful force, teaching us "that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world".
I don't believe grace means we don't need the guidelines of the law.
The scripture says "...I had not known sin, but by the law: for I had not known lust, except the law had said, Thou shalt not covet."
?? My Goal and Plea
There are many reasons I could give to explain why I believe observing the Sabbath is important.
However, my aim isn't to convince anyone.
My scriptures show no proof of His changed law, only this promise: “My covenant will I not break, nor alter the thing that is gone out of my lips.”
I believe His laws are unchanged, that the 10 commandments were never abolished.
I want to live by my Father's commandments.
I know there will be times, due to my human weakness, that I'll fail. Please, do not rejoice when I stumble.
Instead, offer encouragement. If I keep trying, one day I will not fail.
?? His Promises
I hold onto His promises:
“To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne.”
“If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father's commandments, and abide in his love.”
“Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.”
Through obedience and faith, victory is possible.
Ultimately, my faith is a source of strength, not judgment.
Keeping His laws is my way of showing my love and seeking His strength. It is the victory I pursue.
Thank you for taking the time to read my thoughts. If you'd like to discuss this further, I'm always open.
Happy Sabbath ??
