My experience in EV bike event

At the RIDE 2024 event at Karpagam College of Engineering, our team built a retrofitted electric vehicle (EV) over the course of a month. The EV featured a 48V, 600W electric motor, a 60V, 600W lithium-ion battery, and side panels made from lightweight GFRP material. We used a chain drive to connect the motor to the wheels. The event consisted of three stages: Technical Inspection (TI), presentations, and driving tests. In the TI, judges assessed the build quality and specifications of our vehicle, which we passed successfully. Next, we delivered presentations on our EV’s design, business model, cost analysis, and innovative features. The driving test had four challenges: acceleration, braking, cone navigation, and endurance. Our vehicle performed well in both acceleration and braking, while the cone test proved difficult but manageable. The endurance test, which required navigating narrow pathways and obstacles, was the toughest part. Despite completing it, we incurred penalties that affected our final scoreThough we didn’t win a prize, the experience of fabricating and competing with our EV provided invaluable lessons in electric vehicle technology, teamwork, and problem-solving. RIDE 2024 was a rewarding and educational journey for our team. And we sincerely thank you mentor and guide Mr. D.Rajesh kumar sir Rajesh Kumar Devaraj and Mr. Suriya for their continuous support and encouragement.
