My Experience with DISC :

I have been certified in Personal Profile Analysis (PPA) - DISC by Thomas International & have been using this instrument for various purposes (development, coaching, appraisal, mentoring etc) at work for last many years.

The DISC profile is an acronym. D - Dominance; I - Influence; S - Steadiness; C - Compliance.

The PPA is not a test, it's only a questionnaire which attempts to capture most & least behaviour at work. The Graph III (self image) talks about the profile factors & the basic fear, motivator, value to the organisation, management style & communication style.

Self Image (Graph III) : I have analysed my own DISC profile first. My self image (Graph III) says that I am effusive, verbally fluent, persuasive & gregarious by nature. It is also written that She likes to remain popular & dislikes unpopular decisions.

Work Mask (Graph I) : When at work, her Dominance (D) & Compliance (C) level out & become equal. That means she takes a cautious approach while taking decisions.

Behaviour under Pressure (Graph II) : When pressure is placed upon her , she is likely to behave in exactly the same manner as the self image suggests. This indicates that this person would remain consistent even at times of extreme pressure.

The words that describe her are : Outgoing, Gregarious, Friendly, Independant, self starter, socially competitive, assertive, mobile, active, impulsive, quick etc...

Her self motivation is in continually working towards winning both argument & the individual. She wants to be seen in a good light. She seeks public recognition of achievements and enjoys new & varied assignments which brings her into contact with other.

Basically I am a moderately high I (Influence) person who is Persuasive, Friendly, Verbal, Communicative, Positive & Networker. Also, a moderately high D (Dominance) with high Drive, and inquisitiveness. Direct, Self starter & Assertive.

The above 3 graphs help the interviewer/assessor to dive deeper & ask more in depth question to find out more about the possible fitment. The Personal profile analysis is a work oriented inventory. This report is designed to assist in appraisal, development, coaching etc process but this report should never be used in isolation but always in conjunction with both an interview & a process whereby a person's competence, experience, trainability etc can be assessed.
