The story of you.
Stories. We all get it.
We all know that stories, told around a roaring campfire ?? in the still of the night, were used to keep cultures and traditions alive through millennia and generations.
We all know that a client has to first be sold on knowing, liking and trusting you, before they will part with their hard-earned cash.
We all know that stories are the shortest line to connect two people.
We know all this.
And yet, often neglected and overlooked is the fact that the most important stories to tell are the ones we tell ourselves.
About our worth.
About the things we desire.
About whether we deserve them or not.
You know who you’re with 24 hours a day 365 days a year??
YOU.
Before you hit the stage, it’s prob a good idea to spend some time in introspection.
Reframe your stories that you tell yourself, about yourself.
Paint yourself in the best light.
I mean, if there’s gonna be a superhero around here, it might as well be you!!!
You might have heard my story by now; and it’s hard to believe I was once homeless, addicted to drugs and living under the care of my Ex-girlfriend who was *ahem* “in the oldest profession known to man” ie Yes. A hooker.
Now, most people can barely wrap their head around this story, let alone relate.
Yet, using a technique I call “Revealing Universals Through Specifics” I manage to use my story to connect with listeners from all walks of life.
The listener might connect with some of the emotions I felt: sad ‘N’ mad, hopeless, abandoned, stressed out, ashamed, worthless, confused, Not pulling my own weight.
How I had to change the story I was telling myself about myself, to become the version of me I am today.
If you want to see how I use my own unlikely story,
(and get pointers for how you can do the same),
I do have a webinar coming up next week with my friend Marc Mawhinney, and you are cordially invited.
I'm not sure how many seats his webinar can hold (some platforms max out at 100) so I would book your place early if I were you.
