My Elbert: What is Victory in Christ?

What is Victory in Christ? How does it include divine favors and blessings? Divine favor and blessings are closely related concepts, but they carry slightly different meanings. Divine favor refers to the favorable disposition or goodwill that God extends towards His people. On the other hand, blessings encompass the tangible and intangible gifts, provisions, and benefits that God bestows upon His people. Enhancing our faith is overcoming obstacles which involves recognizing the mercy of God that comforts and forgives us in times of difficulty. It is through His grace that we receive the strength to conquer challenges. Overcoming obstacles brings glory to God's name and honors His authority in our lives. We approach obstacles with a sense of sacredness, trusting in God's divinity and His plan for our lives. Our hope in Him sustains us and enables us to persevere through challenges, receiving His favor and blessings. By embracing these aspects, our faith is strengthened, and we experience the fullness of His provision.

Divine compassion along with His perfect love prepares our hearts to receive divine favor and blessings. It helps us recognize our need for God, seek His mercy, receive His unmerited favor, align with His will, and cultivate a deep relationship with Him. Through His compassion, God opens the way for us to receive His abundant blessings and experience His favor in our lives. Divine compassion plays a significant role in our ability to receive divine favor and blessings. Here's how divine compassion works in relation to receiving favor and blessings:

  1. Understanding our Need: Divine compassion allows us to recognize our need for God's favor and blessings. It humbles us and helps us acknowledge that we cannot accomplish or receive everything on our own. When we understand our dependence on God's grace and compassion, we become open to receiving His favor and blessings.
  2. Seeking God's Mercy: Divine compassion moves us to seek God's mercy and forgiveness for our shortcomings and failures. It prompts us to repent and turn to God with a contrite heart. As we approach God with humility and seek His forgiveness, we position ourselves to receive His favor and blessings.
  3. Receiving Unmerited Favor: Divine compassion is the foundation of God's unmerited favor, also known as grace. It is through God's compassion and love that He extends His favor to us, even though we don't deserve it. We receive His favor as a gift, not based on our own efforts or merits. Divine compassion opens the door for us to experience the abundance of God's blessings.
  4. Aligning with God's Will: Divine compassion draws us closer to God's heart and helps us align our desires with His will. As we grow in compassion and love for others, we develop a heart that desires what God desires. When our hearts are aligned with God's will, we position ourselves to receive His favor and blessings that are in line with His plans and purposes.
  5. Cultivating a Relationship: Divine compassion invites us into a deep and intimate relationship with God. As we experience His compassion and love, we grow in our trust and reliance on Him. A close relationship with God enables us to receive His favor and blessings, as we become more attuned to His leading and guidance in our lives.

Blessings, on the other hand, highlight God's goodness and generosity. They are tangible expressions of His faithfulness in providing for His children's needs and enriching their lives. Blessings are a demonstration of God's abundant provision and care, reflecting His desire to bless His people and fulfill His promises to them. They are manifestations of God's goodness and faithfulness towards His children.

While both divine favor and blessings originate from God's nature of love and grace, they emphasize different aspects of His character. Divine favor highlights God's disposition towards His people, expressing His favor and delight in them. It is an expression of His grace and mercy, where He bestows His love, guidance, and protection upon them. Divine favor is often associated with God's special attention and intervention in the lives of His chosen ones.

  • For His people/children, blessings can manifest in various forms, such as material prosperity, good health, peace, joy, and spiritual growth.?

  • For His “chosen ones”, divine favor reflects His faithfulness in showering His love and attention upon them, guiding and protecting them along their journey. (Mercy-comfort, forgiveness & Grace-strength)
