“My designs were everywhere…!”
Seeing my creative work out and about has always given me a tremendous buzz.? So, to attend an awards ceremony at Battersea Park and be surrounded by my work was buzz-like on steroids!
I worked with The Rugby Players’ Association for 5 years, creating a whole raft of branding and design projects for them.
Amongst other things, designing and delivering everything for their prestigious RPA Annual Players Awards each year.? The theme and concepts different every time.
The black tie event was covered by Sky Sports and attended by the rugby stars of the day, it was a fabulous and exciting platform from which to showcase my creative talent.? Coming up with the creative designs, coordinating print, production and supplying everything for the big night, including graphics for the Sky Sports media backdrops ready for the live winner announcement broadcasts.
Jo (my wife) and I were invited to attend in 2014 at Battersea Evolution in London.? All togged up in black tie and cocktail dress (Jo, not me!), we walked through the doors and the sight took my breath away. My designs were everywhere! Ten 9 feet drape banners, featuring rugby’s stars from the previous year, adorning the room, awards logos, advertisements, table cards, Player Awards programme, auction brochure, voting cards and the very cool RPA liveried London Taxi Photo Booth.

For 4 years I had the privilege of conceptualising the look, feel and designs for the annual awards event and I have to say it was a job I absolutely loved.
Watching my hero rugby players holding my “reveal” cards when they announced the winners was something else!
