My "Daily News Pub Crawl"
The media has one goal - to make money.
To do that, it needs to draw as many eyeballs to it as possible, and keep them glued to their product for as long as possible.
The best way to do that is to serve up a steady stream of bad news, filled with "the sky is falling" warnings - the more sensational and scary, the better (better for the media, not for you or I).
That's why I limit the amount of time I spend reading/watching the news.
The stuff is toxic and should have a warning sticking attached for all who consume it.
But I don't avoid it 100% (although that's something I'm seriously considering) ...
I do something I call my "daily news pub crawl"
With a normal pub crawl you visit a number of pubs or bars in one night and have a drink in each before moving on to the next one ...
(This was back when you were allowed by the government to leave your home and meet with friends to do so)
With a "daily news pub crawl" I take 10 minutes each day to scroll various news sites and see what's going on .... or what they tell me is going on, since I consume it with a skeptical eye.
I stick to my guns on the 10 minute limit - I don't let it balloon to 15 or 20 minutes. In 10 minutes I scroll the new sites I have saved (yes, from both sides of the political aisle) and then I'm outta there.
This practice has helped me in many ways.
For one, my iPhone screen time has dropped from an ugly five hours per day to just under 60 minutes/day, a big achievement for someone who was previously glued to the little screen.
And I don't get bogged down in what the big media entities are telling me I should be upset and whining about each day, and can instead invest that energy into my business or enjoying personal time.
Building a business was never easy, but it got a lot harder in 2020/2021, where the media took its usual practices and amped it up to an 11/10, making it difficult to focus on anything else.
But fear not - a lot of entrepreneurs are not only surviving, but are growing in these "uncertain" times.
One of them is Stephen, who with the help of Leo Kanell and 7 Figures Funding took his business from six figures to seven figures last year by adding funding options to his offer!
Leo is going to show how he helped him do it during our live workshop on Tuesday, May 11th at 1 pm EST ...
