My creative journey: Artist Profile

My creative journey: Artist Profile

I am writing this blog post for other professionals to learn about my journey as a creative soul.

I am a surrealist artist known for my paintings, prints and drawings of the natural world within dream like states and I share tendencies with the Chicago Imagists and broader Chicago tradition of surreal representation. I am an honored alumni of the School of the Art Institute of Chicago one of the most historically significant accredited independent schools of art and design in the United States and the University of Illinois at Chicago School of Design. My artwork has been influenced by the several of the Chicago Imagists such as Roger Brown, Ed Paschke, Christina Ramberg, Philip Hanson, Barbara Rossi and Ray Yoshida. I studied closely with Phyllis Bramson an American artist, based in Chicago and known for her richly ornamental, excessive and decadent paintings and famed printmaker Michael Miller (1938-2014) a remarkably talented draftsman who later retired as the Department Chair in Print Media for the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.

I have had solo and group exhibitions at some of Chicago's most respected galleries and cultural spaces including The Chicago Public Library Galleries, The Art Institute of Chicago, Gallery 400 University of Illinois at Chicago, C33 Gallery Columbia College Chicago, The Hyde Park Art Center, The Phyllis Kind Gallery, The Carl Hammer Gallery and The Zolla/ Lieberman Gallery.

Example of my artistic working style below.

I now live in San Diego, California with my wife an arts teacher and children's book author.

I have created a new Instagram account to follow my creative journey. I hope those reading this post follow me below
