My Conversation with God in the form of Krishna

My Conversation with God in the form of Krishna

When I turned to Krishna with my struggles, I sought answers to questions that linger in every heart. His wisdom, as eternal as the Gita itself, illuminated my path with clarity and purpose.

“Why can’t you just take away my weaknesses?”

He replied, "I will not simply take them away. Uplift yourself by your own mind, not degrade yourself. With disciplined effort, free from self-pity, you shall overcome all impediments." [Bhagavad Gita 6.5]

uddhared ātmanātmāna? nātmānam avasādayet ātmaiva hy ātmano bandhur ātmaiva ripur ātmana?

One should elevate oneself by the power of one's own mind and should not degrade oneself; for the mind can be one’s friend as well as one’s enemy.

“Can you grant me patience?”

He replied, "Patience emerges through forbearance of life's dualities. Heat and cold, pleasure and pain, these must be tolerated without being disturbed. In practicing this tolerance, patience dawns naturally." [Bhagavad Gita 2.14]

mātrā-spar?ās tu kaunteya ?īto??a-sukha-du?khadā? āgamāpāyino 'nityās tā?s titik?asva bhārata

The contacts of the senses with their objects create, O son of Kunti, feelings of heat and cold, of pain and pleasure. They come and go and are impermanent. Bear them patiently, O Bharata.?

“Can you grant me happiness?”

He replied, "True contentment arises from turning inward and not depending on external objects. By controlling your senses and seeking refuge in your inner Self, you will discover that enduring joy and happiness is your own inner treasure." [Bhagavad Gita 5.21]

bāhya-spar?e?v asaktātmā vindaty ātmani yat sukham sa brahma-yoga-yuktātmā sukham ak?ayam a?nute

One who is not attached to external sense pleasures finds happiness within the self. Such a person, whose mind is united in divine union with Me, enjoys imperishable happiness.

“Can you spare me from all the pains of life?”

He replied, "No, because it is through the firm endurance of suffering that you draw closer to Me and rise above worldly entanglements. Remaining unshaken in adversity is the way to make yourself ready for immortality." [Bhagavad Gita 2.15]

ya? hi na vyathayanty ete puru?a? puru?ar?abha sama-du?kha-sukha? dhīra?a? so 'm?tatvāya kalpate

O noblest amongst men, that person who is not affected by happiness and distress, and remains steady in both, becomes eligible for liberation.

“Krishna can you then just help strengthen my spirit?”

And He counseled, "Spiritual elevation comes through gradual practice, steadying the mind step by step, and holding it firmly with intelligence and conviction. In your diligence and sincerity, I provide subtle guidance." [Bhagavad Gita 6.25]

?anai? ?anair uparamed buddhyā dh?ti-g?hītayā ātma-sa?stha? mana? k?tvā na ki?cid api cintayet

Gradually, step by step, one should withdraw the mind and firmly establish it in the higher Self by means of a controlled intelligence. Thus situated, one should not think of anything else.

"Can you give me all the things I need to enjoy life?"

And He reminded, "Yet I have given you life itself, the foundation of all experiences. Recognize that I am the source of all creation, and by tuning yourself to this truth, the entire universe becomes yours to cherish." [Bhagavad Gita 10.8]

aha? sarvasya prabhavo matta? sarva? pravartate iti matvā bhajante mā? budhā bhāva-samanvitā?

I am the source of all spiritual and material worlds. Everything emanates from Me. The wise who perfectly know this worship Me with great faith and devotion.

Finally, touched by His love for me, I asked:

“Can you help me love others as You love me?”

He lovingly replied, "In seeing Me equally present in all beings, you manifest perfect compassion and harmony. By recognizing the One in all, you draw closer to Me through unbounded love." [Bhagavad Gita 6.32]

I regard them to be perfect yogis who see the true equality of all living beings and respond to the joys and sorrows of others as if they were their own.
