My Consulting Method Exposed

Today, I want to share my method for helping entrepreneurs grow their revenues and profits. This method has made lots of people lots of money.

I recorded a video for you explaining it.

There are no special effects, and it might be a bit dry…it’s methodology after all.

But.

This stuff is really powerful, and you can use it for your business.

This is my “secret sauce”. Well, of course, there is no secret (or if there is, it’s in the combination of frameworks, tools, and practical experience).

I think we all need to have our methods clearly defined for ourselves. It just makes things so much easier.

No method is perfect. All models are wrong in some sense.

Some are just more useful than others.

Through trial and error, I have learned that this is the most pragmatic way I know how to help someone improve their results.

My process has five core steps.

1. UNDERSTAND THEIR WORLD

First, I want to understand their business, the context, and the entrepreneur’s thinking. This is crucial for adapting your way of working with your client.

2. UNDERSTAND RESULTS (AND WHAT CAUSES THEM)

Second, I want to know the exact numbers (The Money Equation) and which actions and what psychology (thinking) causes them. More often than not, results are caused by limited thinking in one or more areas, and that must then be addressed to remove the limitation.

3. UNDERSTAND THE DREAM, GOALS, and CONSTRAINTS

Third, I want to understand what kind of business my client wants to build. There are many ways to get the same result, but the reality and the life of the entrepreneur can look radically different. This is the basis for everything. We’re all different.

4. LEVERAGE THE STRATEGIC FOUNDATIONFourth, I look at changes in the “big levels”, the strategic foundation. The big levers in any business are the “permanent” stuff, like your Psychology (Energy), Positioning, Business Model, Operating Model, and Offering. I audit them all and look at what needs to change. Here is where the big moves are made.

5. OPTIMIZE AND MAXIMIZE THE BUSINESS ENGINE

Fifth, I look at how the business is running its core “engine”, and its three core processes; Lead Generation, Sales Conversion, and Value Delivery. I bring around 150 ways to increase results across The Money Equation:

(If the client wants, we also work on the last two parts of the equation, Operating Expenses and Valuation).

This process is extremely reliable, because we turn every stone and optimize the business by focusing only on what yields the best results, and we eliminate all the waste.

Typically, a business can at least 2X its profits without any new investments, because it’s so severely sub-optimized and all it needs to do is to maximize the resources it already has.
