My Community....

Yesterday I had lunch with the most amazing person who is part of my community. This person named "John" (not his real name as I have not gained his permission) came into my world via Linked-in. I just love Linked-in for making connections with people who are clearly my "tribe" It was clear to me on every level that "John" is very successful in business and in life. After only a few minutes we established that I had been a client at one of his restaurants and we also had a mutual contact that we both new from years ago. I am sure we have a few more too! (6 degree's - less on Linked-in)

The reason we connected "off line" was because John liked what he read "on-line" Big thank you for reading my articles. There are a number of you out there who consistently like and comment and I feel so blessed that you take the time out of your busy lives to do so. BIG THANK-YOU !

After my lunch with "John" yesterday it made me think about what is the "key" ingredient to being really successful?

If you’re going to succeed at anything: relationships, career, goals... life... you have to love the one constant in your life. Yourself. The only person who has been there in your triumphant moments and your tragedies. The only person who really understands you.

Do you love that person?

I wrote the following back in 2013 in my first book "No longer will I have the problem of not achieving my expectations or living up to everyone else’s expectations. I will be calm, understanding and cool-headed in the most stressful of situations. I will always have time for everyone. I will no longer have anxiety, insecurity, panic attacks, stress, jealousy or worry as all will be banished once I have read this chapter. Sound familiar?"

I am not sure if I consistently live up to that promise as I am only human. I certainly put "me" first more....I am a work in progress too !

I do have that power for myself, but you hold the key for you. I can explain what helped me in my journey and what is still helping me today. It is like dieting in a way. We all know diets don’t work; not because you can’t lose the weight, but because in order to keep the weight off you need to commit to a change in eating patterns – a life change, if you will. I know I have scared you with the words “life change”. You did not sign up for this. In fact, you just wanted the quick fix (like me)

Let’s see just how much you love yourself, by examining how you talk to yourself.

Start everyday off with a smile and get it over with.

~ W C Fields

Do you hate Mondays and spend your weekends complaining about the upcoming start of the workweek? Poor Monday... what did it ever do to you? After all, it’s only another day, no more or less important than any other day, yet it is as hated as Friday is eagerly anticipated!

Have you ever noticed that the way you talk about Mondays is the way you talk about yourself?

The energy you put out, your ‘vibe’, always (without fail) attracts its equal. If you are angry, resentful, depressed and frustrated that Monday is coming... then you are going to attract more situations to be angry, resentful, depressed and frustrated about. If you blame Monday then you can’t be happy with who you are, with your life, or with anything. Ah did you read my last post about Monday?

So... learning to love Mondays is about learning to love yourself. Love yourself with positive thoughts, uplifting emotions, positive energy, joy, purpose, interest, curiosity, fascination, awareness, appreciation, gratitude, more love, understanding, peace, kindness and compassion...

AND its okay because like me you too are a work in progress - we all are!
