My City, Let's play games!

My City, Let's play games!

Long time back when I finished my high school I chose computer science as the future direction, to be honest it was a good advice from my family but the 1st year at colleague was boring studying computer history with calculus and physics!! Excitement started when I bought my first personal computer, it was expensive more than 20 years ago, that’s when I started playing games, I even recall some of the games like "doom" that trigger excitement dealing with computers and created passion in understanding how to maximize computer performance via software optimizations and HW upgrade. I remember sometimes spending 8 hours playing. That games passion pushed me to understated how these software are really work starting from hardware, into operating system then graphics engines, even I start coding some simple games which was a big fun. Even at the family level, they were happy seeing me fully engaged with my new study!

Overall games made me happier student at college days with great passion to learn more with fun.

These days I recall my first year at college and how applying the same concept can make us a happier citizen!

Let's imagine lunching government gamification platform that help us to be a better citizen , platform that touch our life as citizens and reward the citizens good practices, this platform would respond to a typical day-in-life of citizens like you and me.

Gamification platform that simply reward us with points and badges for good things we do to our city and go with government recommendations.

Some ideas of being a good city player and collecting more points:

  • You lower your utility bills for green and sustainable cities
  • Use public transportations like Dubai Metro, buses. Etc. amazing options we have at my city Dubai.
  • Renew your car registrations with no accident or traffic fine throughout the year
  • Report incident that save people life
  • Make suggestions that improve people life
  • Contribute to city safety and security, point accelerators for such practice!
  • Charity and helping other
  • Volunteering activities such as helping children with special needs
  •  Using more e-government services
  • Promote your city on social media to attract more tourist
  • Consider other personal activates such sport and reading books

The rules are simple,  the more points you collect from above activities the more badges you get; yearly winners to be announce as best citizens.

This will be great competition that enhance people life

Let us play! Let us be a happier citizens!
