My circular creed

I dedicate this article to my family, especially to my grandparents.

I’m writing this article 3 months after my last 7 months that I had decided to reinvent myself. During this period of time, my knowledge about the topic Circular economy on its depths.From the cooperative world of big companies to the reverted logistics played by to collectors of the streets.I’ve attended a series of panels, workshops, lectures with authorities, scholars, teachers people really engaged with sustainable aims, beyond a job. As I’ve chosen to change lanes, since the latter still has a shy practice in the activities and initiatives that boost the circularities, my main goal is to upgrade my job through a circular operation. I changed from 1 coach to 3. 

One better than the other, who individually have brought me evolution and paradigm shift in different contexts. It was zero comfort zone, A flood of self-knowledge. I found out a brand new point of balance between behaviour mental archetype. The map of career hypothesis has given me a strategic platform of which path I should follow.

For the headhunters my résumé is massive. Even though there are professionals in the market helping out, it was really challenging summarizing my 17 years of experience and 10 different positions between, S?o Paulo, Goiás in Brazil, France and Jap?o at the top of my 34y.o. I attended only 2 interviews. At the outplacement consulting I did not have any offers, for many different reasons. I am below 40’s to take over a leadership position, I haven’ got some kind of expertise etc.

The point is that I ‘ve decided to shift from the automotive sector into the linear economy, to the sustainable sector. I am a production engineer, a post graduate in projects management. The 

sustainability departments employ engineering or environmental sciences. Or using a metaphor I used to play basketball and now I want to play baseball. In which sport do I have better chances? I am aware that my engagement towards the subject is not unsteady and the months digging down in the technical syllabus as time went by turned into a major advantage.

Furthermore I’ve kept my contact with my job along with the debris’ collectors. Waste 

Does not exist: It is wrong. From the early times in the etymology of the word in Portuguese it comes from Latin. “Lix” means “ash” because our ancestors used to burn their waste( most of the time it was organic). By the end of this burning it turned into ashes. The reframe of this entry waste to a post consumed (or wrapping post consumption) is a seed and an invitation to the awakening of the needed awareness to engage with sustainability.

There is the economic linear model of nature extraction, changing matter into the raw material, trading to the final consumer. .... ….and the circular one, reducing the consumption, trying to reuse the product and the post- consumption, checking the opportunities of processing or remanufactured to sum it all up recycle. The thinking design focuses on cunning solutions to adapt to create links between connections at the end of a circle and the beginning of the other.

There are new approaches and innovative concepts, like CRADLE to do the cradle. Performance economy( focusing in the experience and in the service not only in the possession of something) Biomimetic, industrial Ecology and the Blue economy ( less waste and a new cash-flow)

The flip over to circularity is an awareness in which we have got to protect the planet to our offspring. Grant the complete functioning of the biosystem of the planet to preserve life. There is another stage filled with pros and cons of power generation from burning. The solution to the organic is the composting and the Lord saves the waste produced by the worms which is rich in nutrients to the plowing.

Acknowledging the technologies available to reenter waste or matter secondary raw matter in the economy, if by any means the creatures from outer space come down to visit us and if they see why we still have waste dumps. Probably they’d think that our intelligence is extremely short. Imagine if they see those piles of waste. 

S?o Paulo generates about 26.000 tons of waste ( if we do the math an average of 2K per person, it is certainly much more than that) I ‘ve mentioned in my previous article that Amazonas basin is not polatable anymore. Moreover the water in Rio de Janeiro is toxic. Due to the Brumadinho disaster was released by its floodgates Usina retiro Baixo increasing the chances of contamination of Lagoa de Três Marias and Rio S?o Francisco. Geologic risk due to the rain showers.

Greta Thunberg has got my total respect and admiration, the same way as Raquel Rosenberg from Engajamundo. Arguing with leaders about when they are going to invest in natural resources which had given them so much riches. I wonder if we say geologic risk it gets easier for them to understand.

The sustainable communities are able to support themselves preserving the environment to the next generations so they will do the same. The speed of natural resources shortage is proportional to the increase of consumption. Being a father I want my boy to enjoy nature too.

In this period of reinvention, I thrived vigorously to the awakening of awareness that the circular economy suggests. It is a sea of possibilities and cunning solutions. With strong possibilities to generate jobs. There is technology and experts. Society thrives and the planet is thankful.

Public policies must be welcome although I believe we should not stand still. I simply cannot. Talked to different kinds of people from different walks of life including street collectors and street people. As time goes by I can see more and more people living on the streets. The trains are filled with people selling goods to make some money.

Today, my unemployed friends and people look for me for my advice. I feel their distress and their need to guarantee their families’ needs, with lots of debts to be paid. To reinvent yourself demands guts, discipline, freedom, humbleness, organization, praise self-knowledge and finally to be in peace with your intuitions. I usually share my path adding the best of learning through the experience during this period of aiming upgrade. I also share what I’ve learnt with my coaches and try to help them too.  

It brings me curiosity to get the web from the core of the connection with some special people. I live the reality of my networking. I found out that awesome people that have got socio-environmental aims, besides business. They suggest where there can be found possibilities to multiply positive results. I live in the age of aquarius (I love the entry revolution). My interpretation is that the industrial sector deserves a new evolution through the Circular Revolution. There are people, technology and creativity enough to guarantee a future to the next generations. Donate blood, thrift stores, help your brother, all is circular. The Amazon and the ciclo of the water are a circle economy and return to nature which has always provided so much for us.

 The abundance is on the verge of a shotcome. The weather changes cause destruction to our society. Floods and droughts out of seasons.The time that I allowed myself during this period, the freedom to explore my potential I’ve developed other skills. I’ve developed a method to ease how to view business, strategic structure of projects to execution, graphic presentation of a résumé (smooth and it usually impress people) Besides mapping cunning processes of indicators.I’m driven by efficiency and concrete deliveries of proven impact. I’ve refined my techniques and besides improving them, I evolved as a human being. I see myself as an attentive father connected to pure love towards my son.

 In January 2020 I started consulting a textile business which practices circular economy and reversal logistic. I long other clients and together with that develop my own business.(While I was writing this article I got one more client.) I establish partnerships with energized people with goals. Magnificent people. My energetic hub which connected me with the revolutionaries inside their boundaries. Our connection equals sustainability.

I am always, and will always be extremely thankful for the demanding businessmen who stoned me in the industry. Mainly those that were able to take the best from me and were not afraid to share their knowledge. My leadership vision is the following: share and democratize the knowledge to expand what they always got from me.

That is why I dedicate myself to talk and listen to people that are looking for a job to share how I got here, this way like the passionates of Circular Economy( the ones who have the awakening).
