My Circle of Masterminds
It's been pretty interesting how I have been inundated with so many Congratulatory messages, Calls and Text following the new responsibility I have been saddled with.
The post gathered over 1500 impressions in less than 72 hours - impressive.
Amidst receiving those calls and text, I have also spent quality time to reflect on certain friends who had asked the very obvious question "How Did You Do It?"
Few friends and colleagues had wondered how exactly I have been able to move job roles, juggle so many balls in the air yet perceived NOT to have dropped any despite obvious discouragements and disappointments.
Whilst there are so many factors responsible for this, I will mention just ONE - My Circle of Masterminds.
In 1898, an Illinois born Psychology professor at the Indiana University, Norman Triplet, wrote what is now recognized in some circles as the first published study in the field of psychology.
Triplet wrote about a study he did with a bunch of cyclists. He would measure their times around the track in a group, and also individually. He found that every time the cyclists were in group, they would cycle faster.

I have long learnt NOT to only establish a very formidable circle of masterminds but to also ride with them because of its exponential impact/benefit.
You see the handsome man in the picture, that is Steve Harris "Mr Ruthless Execution" - one of the finest Life & Business Strategist, a highly sought after Management Consultant and Chief Executive Officer of EdgeEcution, Motivational Speaker & Author. We simply had to connect over breakfast - Checking Up and Checking Down.
Steve is just one of those in my Circle of Masterminds within and outside my work sector. You want to do the impossible? Set up a formidable circle of Masterminds and roll with them. Like I love to say, when you flock with the best, you are either the best or you learning from the best.
I am currently documenting "How To Move From Obscurity to Limelight" in the workplace. A template that shows how exactly I moved from the shop floor to driving impactful business presentations in boardrooms with Business leaders within and outside my work sector.
Tools that helped me achieve great stuff in 2 months what I couldn't achieve in about 8 years. I am sure you will love to have a copy when I get it published. Let me know in the comment session if you will be interested in getting the book.
Conclusively, I must add, establishing and maintaining an effective circle of Masterminds can sometimes be expensive depending on what you intend achieving. You will at some point have to make sacrifices and not so easy decisions.

2 年I totally agree with your last paragraph, it is expensive to maintain some of these circles. If you are hungry for something you have to pay the price. I am looking forward to your book.
