The lockdown phase has exposed us to innumerable new facets of life and new ways of living. This post is not about how life has become more chaotic (not only for me but for everyone else too). This post is also not about how I am managing multiple roles seamlessly (Because that would be a lie as I am faltering every-day , even-though I am better off than so many others, who might have lost their jobs or do not have access to a support system like I have).
This post is about normal problems that a lot of us have and all they needed was normal easy solutions. This is about giving a thumbs up to simple ideas that impact life like mine and makes it a little bit easier. Being part of the #Matrix Partner India team and being married to a techie turned Entrepreneur, one thing that I can’t harp enough is appreciating ideas that changes our lives and the lives around us for better. So this a toast (from a full time working professional with a 18 month baby at home, who is also donning the temporary hat of a Cook/ House help/Gardener and many others) to all those wonderful ideas that have made life easy for me in these few months.
Cherry on the cake: Some of these ideas are part of the Matrix Partners India portfolio and naturally enough my customer experience comes with a hint of pride !
#Amazon India, for anything and everything. Right from the diapers for my son to the vermicompost for my plants. You are my online Kirana store!
#Youtube , for making me a bit better in just about everything transactional. Making those Dosa crispy was unheard for 3 months back but now I am a pro Dosa maker over the weekends!
#Razorpay: There is no way I can miss those “Powered by Razorpay” messages for almost everything that I buy online. Simplicity is an art. Making those transactional processes simple and affordable for many small traders and firms is just amazing.
#Country Delight : A big big fan and I would love to see more categories being added in Bangalore soon. But so far , you haven’t missed a single day of delivery and thank you for the credit line. Helps forgetful mothers like me who miss to track that there isn’t enough balance in the wallet. The delivery never stops!
#Milkbasket: with all the delivery miss outs once in a while, I love the fact that I don’t have to choose a slot, can order till midnight and the groceries are right at my door step every morning when I open the door . And the feature that doesn’t need me to “Checkout” is amazing!
#Zerodha Kite: When the lockdown started, I guess I secretly started romanticising the entire situation. I wanted to pick up a skill. Don’t ask me the reason why I picked up “Trading and Stock market” but now when I look back, I am glad I did. And started my beginner days with this wonderful easy platform. Newbie to trading and investing like me, try it. Investing in stocks was scary till now.
#Dailyhunt: While I don’t use this platform often but have ensured to download this for my parents. Thank you for the vernacular versions ( My Parents love the Hindi / Bangla and the Nepali versions). And the localised news. We are now rooting for the Assamese version too.
#Practo: I am married to a family of doctors ( my mother in law is a gynaecologist and father in law was an anaesthesian) so naturally my husband claims to be a pseudo doctor. Hence, so far I never had the need to go for Online consultations. Issues that needed a doctor, always meant taking an appointment and seeing a doctor in person. Issues that needed superficial consulting would mean going to my in-house Quack or a quick call to my Mother in law or a check with the friends and relatives who are doctors. But Covid brought with it that crazy fear of hospitals like never before. So thank you Practo for helping me through this phase. Online Consulting is certainly the new normal for me. Easy consulting sessions and medicines delivered at the door step.
#MyndYourFitness: Self neglect is certainly not the legacy that I would want to leave behind to folks who look upto me. It is important that we invest in our-selves and our wellness. Thanks to the daily online workouts and easy to join and easy to action and implement sessions. Best part is, I don’t feel I am doing this alone but with multiple other folks who are logged in at the same time and hence does give me a feeling of socialising.
#Inshorts: In this age of “too much” information with too little time, I am still updated with the top news. Bite sized/ vetted and relevant information as I swipe up and down.
And lastly,
#Googlepay and #PhonePe: I am not loyal to one over other but I like you both. With GPay ensuring almost all of their scratch-cards are blanks these days, there is no incentive to pick one over the other anyways :-)
PS: this in no way means that I only use these platforms and Apps. But I have certainly been using them more frequently than any other pre-Covid frequented apps and I have also excluded the ones which are very obvious and I still use them a lot just like the pre covid days (Netflix/Amazon Prime/ Hotstar/Whatsapp/Facebook/Instagram etc)
So what are your go to apps and platforms these days?

4 年Rupali thanks for sharing this. Very interesting and helpful. Since I am a new mom and full time working professional, sometimes I feel it is so tough to manage everything without any help in this pandemic (being OCD), but your article is gonna help me a lot definitely.
