My CAPP Journey
I have completed my Certificate in Applied Positive Psychology (CAPP) in November last year, and I am thrilled to share my journey with The Flourishing Center and Emiliya Zhivotovskaya, MAPP .
I had the wish to delve into the field of positive psychology and gain practical insights into fostering resilience, happiness, and flourishing in both myself and others, for my leadership skills.
What brought me to CAPP was the founder, Emiliya Zhivotovskaya, MAPP , being her the person that added the V for Vitality (Physical Health and Wellness) into the PERMA-V model. And she was my teacher on the CAPP cohort I was part of, CAPP 108, can you imagine that… awesome!
I am of the opinion that my life belongs to the community, and as long as I live, it is my privilege to do for it whatever I can. I want to be thoroughly used up when I die, for the harder I work, the more I live. Life is no ‘brief candle’ to me. It is a sort of splendid torch which I have got hold of for a moment, and I want to make it burn as brightly as possible before handing it on to the future generations.”― George Bernard Shaw (Emiliya Zhivotovskaya favorite quote)
I was hoping to acquire a comprehensive understanding of positive psychology principles and explore how these concepts could be applied in various aspects of life, including my career, my leadership style, my coaching approach and even my personal relationships.
Throughout the nine months of the CAPP program, my expectations were exceeded class after class, ever since the beginning to the end.
The curriculum is meticulously crafted, offering a blend of theoretical knowledge and hands-on application. The instructors at The Flourishing Center brought both expertise and passion to the classroom, creating an environment that was conducive to learning and personal development.
What I gained from the program was a toolbox of practical skills and strategies. The experiential learning approach allowed me to integrate these concepts into my daily life, resulting in tangible improvements in my overall happiness and well-being. And being able to share and to teach this knowledge and experience has been my privilege and honor ever since.
I wholeheartedly recommend the Certificate in Applied Positive Psychology (CAPP) to anyone seeking a transformative and comprehensive exploration of positive psychology.
