My Cancer Healing Journey, Continued...

One of my commitments to myself and to you, my friends & followers, is to be transparent and open about my life, which includes the ups and the downs.
Many of you may know that a few years ago I had surgery to remove my prostate as it had cancer in it. At that time we were hopeful that it was taken care of, and initial indications said that it was.
Turns out that wasn’t the case and that there was still some cancer left to heal.
Sparing you all the technical details and to get to the point, right now I’m going through some hormone therapy and during February and March, I will go through radiation therapy.
It’s important to know that this is a standard “clean-up” procedure – it is not life-threatening in any way. Outside of a few potential small side effects of the radiation, I’ll be back to my good ol’ self once it’s done.
But in the meantime, through April, I’ll have some fatigue, brain fog, hot flashes, headaches, and some other relatively minor side effects.
That’s why I’ve been somewhat quiet on the work front.
I take my work very seriously and I only commit to clients when I’m sure I can show up for them 100%
That’s why, for the next few months I’m also going to hold off on any live speaking, coaching, and training.
Because over these months, probably until mid to late April, I am not sure if I can deliver to the quality that I hold myself to.
However, I will have a lot of time, and I do have energy.?
My lovely wife Anna told me to take a few months off, though if you know me, nothing would be worse for my mental health than sitting around for almost half a year!

(Don’t worry, I did take most of the last two months off…)
That’s why I’ll be working on my new book Leadership Mindset 2.0 – Transform into a Powerful, Confident, Strategic Leader (leadershipmindsetthebook.com) along with a few videos and other things here and there.
To the people I personally know, here’s what you can do for me:
? Do drop a note here and there – reply to this email, send a voice note, a text, whatever. I love hearing from people.
? If we see each other or talk personally, yes it’s fine to ask how I’m doing, though it gets boring (for me) to talk about and give the same story over and over. There’s a 99% chance that I’m overall doing well with some tiredness and headaches.
? The fact is I’m strong, otherwise healthy, my mindset is dialled in, I have a great support network around me (of which you are one.) The best thing you can bring me is a laugh and a smile.
? Remember, what I’m going through is not life threatening. It is not chemotherapy. It is radiation, which is totally different – much, much easier on the whole. I’m doing this now so I DON’T have issues in 20 or 30 years.
? Even if it’s well-intentioned, please do not send any books, share any articles, or fill me in on any potential cures that you or someone you know of may have used. Healing from cancer can be overwhelming, and my treatment has come with a lot of thought and care. Please trust I’m doing what’s right for me at this time.
Do keep an eye out for the book and some videos (yes maybe even on TikTok ?? ), drop a note if you have a chance, and I’m looking forward until we see each other again, in person…
Big Love,
-Michael
