My CAL2 experience

Yesterday I finished the official part of our CAL 2 journey with my fellow CAL2 students - it was amazing to see how we all applied the same learning differently. While we all took the exact same course at the exact same time, we all have our unique understanding of how to use it - and there is no right or wrong in this - it is just different for all of us.

CAL2 changed everything for me, and more importantly, it changed me as a person. When I took CAL 1, almost exactly 1 year ago in Sydney, I could have never imagined how I perceive myself right now. How can one single year make such a difference? Well, it takes a deep look inwards and a shift from ?they are the problem“ towards ?they are not - I am the problem“ - it is not easy; it is actually quite challenging, and my ego did everything possible to disrupt my journey (I learned it the hard way) but it is absolutely worth going through it. Experiences helped me grow. Step by step, I understood the concept of myself better, recognizing and accepting my leadership edges and eventually felt free and dissolved the ego more and more. And I learned to not fight the reality in front of me, just because it is not the reality that I made up in my mind.

With that being said, having support along the way is essential as the road is bumpy. Words can’t describe how thankful I am to know that Michael and Audree were/are always there to support me along my journey. Not only did they kickstart my ?personal journey, “but through their experience and wisdom, they helped me understand all this better. If you would look up the word ?inspiration“ in my personal Wikipedia, I’m sure a picture of the 2 of them would pop up. Thank you again, and I really hope to see you in 2021 in-person somewhere in Europe. You really make the world a better place with your work.

Thanks to my fellow CAL2 students - you helped shape the learning space we were all in, and through your feedback, stories, and openness, I felt safe in sharing my story.

A special thanks go out to the key person for me on this journey; my wife Myriam (aka ?the best feedback provider in the world“) was the biggest support I could have asked for - always asking the right question or giving me feedback at just the right time, making sure that I don′t get off-track. Her feedback often hit some of my edges; hence I reacted defensive at the beginning. But we grew together in that aspect. I’m beyond grateful that she jumped on board the journey of looking within. We now work together on ourselves, sharing experiences about our discoveries and having meaningful conversations about our egos. I’m very excited about what life has in store for us, but as long as we are open to it, life will keep unfolding in ways we can′t see yet.

And what is left for me? I know there is no turning back and no stopping for me anymore - it is a continuous journey, and I′m eager to learn how to go deeper and slower. While CAL2 finished yesterday, my journey has just started.
