Whether you're at a career crossroads, thinking about making a major move, or facing life-changing choices, we all face critical decision-making at one point or the other in our lives.
It is not obvious to everyone how to make decisions, especially when our feelings get in the way.
This simple step-by-step process could help you become more effective at making difficult decisions.
?
PROCESS:
Step 1: Understand What You Want
To make good decisions, you must be very clear and precise about the outcome you seek.
Don't be vague; be clear about what your ambitions are.
??
Step 2: Prioritize Your Desires
Sometimes, we may want more than one outcome.
If that is the case, list what's most important to you based on personal values or necessity.
?
Step 3: Consider Different Choices
Always aim for at least three choices because having only one or two can make your decision tough.
More choices mean more chances to be creative and break free from limits.
Make sure you do a cost-benefit analysis of every choice.

Step 4: Think About What Could Happen
Once you have your choices, think about what might happen with each.
Think of the good stuff and the not-so-good stuff.
Write it down; don't just let your thoughts bounce around in your head and fill you with anxiety and worry.
It's better to get it out on paper to visualize it more clearly.
??
Step 5: Check How Likely Things Are
After you've listed the good and not-so-good stuff, it's time to check how likely each one is.
Will the good things happen, or is it just a nice thought?
Same with the not-so-good stuff – is it likely, or are you just scaring yourself?
Knowing the odds and preparing in case things do not go as planned, helps a lot.
?
Step 6: Stick to Your Choice
Lastly, when you've figured out the best option, go for it.
No more procrastinating; decide and stick to it.
If you’ve handled the last few strategies effectively, you now know that the choice you’re sticking to is the best one for you.
?
Remember, knowing what you want, listing your options, and weighing the possibilities are life-saving tools in your decision-making toolkit.
By thinking ahead, and checking the odds, you're well on your way to making decisions that will lead you toward a successful future.
