In my Bucket List

In my Bucket List

Only recently having discovered the term "bucket list" I realise that I have always had one. No need to look retrospectively on things that already appear here on LinkedIn.

Three things in my bucket list - better yet four:

  1. Growing old together with my wife. We celebrated our silver wedding anniversary last month. I am going for gold!
  2. Having plateau'ed as an alpine skier and as a golfer, I would love to break through on these pasttimes.
  3. Build our dreamhome before we are too old. My wife and I share the dream of having the luxury and privacy of a free-standing home built to our spec, located more centrally in Germany so that nation-wide opprtunities can be addressed.

  1. Speaking of buckets, I have always wanted to build a kit-car. A two seater T-Bucket as a past time during downtime as a freelancer and in semi-retirement. No need for a huffer or velocity stacks, but a normaly-aspirated vintage Ford small-block, A T-Bucket with a Chevy 350? - I shake my head at the car shows. Instead a Ford 302 no on-board computer. Thirty over shot peened and magna-fluxed, a vacauum-advanced distributor, three-angle vavle job on the heads, Holley high CFM double-pumper carburator, Edelbrock high-volume intake and Hooker exhaust manifolds. Add a high angle Cam Dynamics cam, high compression TRW pistons, double roller timing chain, B&M Valve Body, Thrush Mufflers, highly gear Zoom'd pumpkin, no need for a stall-convertor. Hey, I just described my university era Mustang.

Zero to 60 in three seconds. Red-lining at 6,000 RPM already at 110 mph. Pulling away from friends with 429 CobraJets with 3:25s until I get there. Metric fuel consumptuion: 30 L per Hunderd Km. Super costing only 49 Cents at the time. Approaching my career start, I grew up and bought a four-banger.
