My Brothers Keeper

My Brothers Keeper

"My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in deed and in truth." - 1 John 3:18

Be careful what you ask for you might receive it with regrets. Be careful what you ask for your freedom could come with the coronavirus. Your behavior dictates what happens next. Listen to the pain and suffering of those infected who ended up in the hospital near death. Follow the fact of over 98,000 deaths in the USA. A healthy dose of fear is why 68% of Americans have elected to shelter in place keeping their families safe. Listen to the medical community and your doctor, follow the science not the confusion voiced in the White House. The key to re-opening the economy is testing, testing and more testing. Maybe then will we feel safe venturing out.

Brothers and sisters are we from all walks of life coming together helping one another as God intended. We are more alike than not. The same red blood flows through our veins. We are all Gods children black, white, hispanic, asian, rich or poor we are all in this together. Suit up before you venture out wearing your mask and gloves as not to infect one another. You wear your mask protecting me. I wear my mask protecting you. We shelter in place keeping everyone safe. We are truly our brothers keeper literally keeping the coronavirus from spreading.

The coronavirus is a humbling experience. Take care of yourself there's only one of you walking this earth. Don't get lack letting yourself go as many do. Did you comb your hair today, why I'm stuck at home? Have you brushed your teeth, sometimes I forget? Have you taken a shower lately, only when necessary. The hair is growing long turning gray. Gaining weight raiding the refrigerator both night and day. We wear a mask no need for make-up. No pedicure or manicure it's called do-it-yourself these days. What day is it anyway? Is this what we've been reduced to because of this pandemic?

How selfish are those not wearing mask and gloves, violating social distancing possibly infecting others. If you truly love your brothers and sisters whom you have not known, you would protect them and your immediate family should you be a carrier. People are hurting mentally some physically most financially it's horrible. Re-opening the economy too soon could be devastating. Just because you open your business doesn't mean people will come. Don't give up don't give in, this too shall pass in time as long as we obey the rules.

If this coronavirus doesn't change you for the better I don't know what will. Loving one another as God loves you is the key to surviving the coronavirus. Empathy and gratitude generates happiness. Call a friend, volunteer, help a neighbor in need. Giving of yourself takes the focus off of you and on someone else. Laughter is the best medicine, comic relief re-directs your anxiety when feeling sad and lonely.

"If a man say, I love God, and hateth his brother, he is a liar: for he that loveth not his brother whom he hath seen, how can he love God whom he hath not seen?" - 1 John 4:20
