My brain was at war with me | the primary dilemma of a freelancer, content producer, and affiliate marketer this week
Funny face as an answer to that dilemma.

My brain was at war with me | the primary dilemma of a freelancer, content producer, and affiliate marketer this week

My brain got mad!

Haha.

It's probably scolded me for choosing to go the affiliate marketing route when part of this gray matter knows I still have a lot to work on for my freelance business.

Okay, Karen. Relax.

I have been meaning to stop taking affiliate marketing opportunities but I just couldn't let go of this perhaps one last opportunity to promote The Freelance Movement Tribe (TFMT).

It's been a no-brainer thing to me as I always have been promoting the Tribe even before this opportunity to become its affiliate happened.

In fact, I've already brought a former student of mine inside. This was last year.

He was too excited to join, and I couldn't seem to keep him from getting in. Haha.

And then I have brought many more people to the free community, The Freelance Movement Community Facebook Group.

You see...

I was always proud of the Tribe and what Chief Coach John "The Legend" Pagulayan, a.k.a. JTL, has built.

Anyway, back to my brain scolding me.

So yeah, I decided to go the "audiogram" route.

I mean, you see that waveform on Canva-ish-designed posts, right? They're used by podcasters to tease out an episode.

Apparently, the other part of my brain decided to use audiograms to create a sort-of radio show. Haha.

The "show" was my way of doing affiliate promotions.

I know I told you about this last time. I'm also trying to recap here for myself. Hahaha.

Anyway, the first week happened and there were pretty good responses to what I did.

And that gave me the biggest dilemma about content creation.

I was so afraid I couldn't sustain the quality of my "episodes" that I shrank for about a day without producing any new content.

Well, I had other reasons. Last week was all about giving people the chance to get a full year of Tribe membership for free via a raffle...

Meanwhile, this week was about inviting my audience to join the Tribe and of course, pay for the membership.

And that was when my challenge on selling rose up again.

I mean, I couldn't seem to sell, and all I was thinking was...

Uhmm, I don't have the kind of bonuses the other affiliates have. All those are awesome and mind-blowing!

Honestly, what could I give?

I blurted all these things out to B1 Ana, who's been my best banana buddy when it comes to freelancing, YouTubing, content production, podcasting, and just about everything.

Then she told me...

Hey, you know what... In a set of audiences, you have a particular space where only you can go into and influence. There's a certain distance only you can reach. There's a group of people who might not have any other access to any knowledge about the Tribe if not for you.

So, wow. Okay, that was it!

That woke my mind and my brain could no longer scold me! Hahaha.

So I took up the challenge and created more content to promote the Tribe one last time, at least for this week.

After this, I'm going to go back to my CEO Karen mode...

...and make sure the rest of what I'll pick up in the days ahead are those activities that are actually aligned with my Zero to CEO journey.

Now Karen-style, let me just make a few arguments with my brain in favor of my choice to do affiliate marketing as a side to my freelancing enterprise.

:P (indulge me)

  1. I got at least two enrollees by now. Kudos!
  2. I had fun. Okay, I'll embrace that. I have, in fairness, rediscovered some talent that has only been buried deep in the past and in my childhood days. Inside my room.
  3. This "side" thing made me go into a serious mode for my freelancing business. Because man, woman, and child—whoever you are—believe me. Once you got people in, you would want to step up your game and be at least a role model for them. Whoa!

So you see, it's not wasted time for me. Haha. I'll justify it because well, that's the only way I could make peace with my brain.

Okay brain, listen.

This should probably be the last time you'll go into affiliate marketing—the last one for now.

Remember your 2022 theme? Yeah, it's time to refocus.

Okay?

And yeah, that thing Coach Marc Allen always says.

Keep the main thing the main thing.

Let's get to it so we can establish business systems by the end of this year. Aja!

Hey you, dear reader...

Have you always found yourself drifting from stuff you had declared you were going to focus on?

How were you able to get back on track?

If you got some nice little pieces of advice in your treasure chest, feel free to take some of them out right now and comment them down below.

Excited here to read them! :)))

Oh yeah, and one last promotional stunt. Hahaha. (yeah I always laugh like that—that's just me.)

Here we go:

The Freelance Movement Tribe (TFMT) is finally closing its doors indefinitely. The last day to enroll is today, January 28, Friday. It's only until 11:59 pm.

If you're not inside the Tribe yet, and you've been meaning to establish yourself as a freelance business owner—meaning...

you want to...

  • serve a particular market with a particular service that increases their revenue...
  • get clients and multiples of them...
  • charge them with premium fees...
  • and then you have a system for service delivery because you're not just a solo freelancer but a business owner...
  • so you got a team with you...
  • and you're actually CEO—

if you've been meaning to go in that direction...

then enrollment to the Tribe should be a no-brainer for you.

Go ahead and read John's story on how he did it, how other Tribe members did it, and how you can do it too >>>

Just visit this link: bit.ly/ilovetribe

and enroll via the same link, too.

See you inside!

Karen
