It’s time for the end-of-the-week wrap-up. Here, I’ll drop a somewhat insanely long list of learnings from this past week. It’s amazing how people just drop gems and don’t even know it. Luckily for me, I pick ‘em up and put ‘em to practice.
Week 3 Takeaways
- Observe. Observe. Observe.
- Test your humor--know when to dial it up or down
- Keep conversations confidential
- Make your presence known
- Understand that intentions don’t negate impact
- Ask for what you want
- Attach yourself to the people you want to become
- Never underestimate the value of a compliment
- Let your colleagues brag about you
- Recognize your limits
- Take off your rose-colored glasses
- Appreciate the people behind the scenes that make things happen
- Pick up work people don’t want to do and kill it
- Do it afraid
- Know that everyone won’t be a fan of you
- Set boundaries for work and home life
- Laugh (some situations are so bizarre you just have to)
