My Books

The author was a mess growing up in rural East Texas. People probably considered him mentally retarded, he assumed this was because of his severe speech impediment, but he was only culturally retarded. The only reason he was able to survive was because people underestimated him. He was so pitiful and already almost destroyed, that there was no need to keep riding a dead horse. Teachers laughed at and neglected the author because of his stuttering, and students made fun of him. In school he was seen as unworthy of teachers and coaches time and efforts. The author's parents rarely talked to him and were satisfied if he took care of the chores on the farm. They didn't believe in higher education for their children and satisfied with the minimum education requirements for their children's education. The author's parents were elderly and had a slave and sharecropper's mentality. They were conditioned to doing things the old way. The author never did get any help for his speech, but was able to survive, and lives yet in a South Suburb of Chicago. He has written forty-six books, more than three-hundred-fifty op-ed commentaries, fifteen journal articles, and several consumer articles. Check out his books @ amazon.com, by Jay Thomas Willis.
