My birthday wish in times of the Corona crisis

It's my birthday today.

I am healthy, working from home for 2 weeks and all family members are healthy as well. My day starts with reports of 723,700 Corona infections and 34,000 Corona related deaths on a global basis.

As a person that is used to optimise global businesses and value chains I am aware that the consequences are severe. However, in every difficult situation, there is also hope if we find a way to show the best of us.

My wish today is, that you

1. Stay healthy and do your part for others to stay healthy too.
2. Practice physical distance during the current Corona crisis, but stay socially connected.
3. Support your community and each other. Let go of needless individualism and greed.
4. Protect the most vulnerable in society. 
5. Build your opinion on facts & pragmatism instead of falling victim to stupidity, lies, egoism and despotism.
6. Keep it real in business and fight Bozosity.
7. Do your part to move towards a circular economy for the common good, wherever this is possible today. Let go of a linear economy that is destroying our social and environmental foundations.
8. Do meaningful work and use the time of isolation during the crisis to rethink/reset common beliefs and mindsets.
9. Protect freedom of speech and privacy as fundamental rights of the individual. 
10. Act now!

Humans are incredibly powerful. With ingenuity, strength and togetherness we will master today’s challenges together. Everything is connected.
