My Biggest Fear

My Biggest Fear

I guess every one of us have experienced any form of fear in our life time as we have to battle with different types of fear such as fear of failure/ success, being judged, losing control, crowd, animals, certain habits etc. There is no free pass when it comes to fear. It is irrespective of your gender, social status, economic status, age or nationality. How we perceive fear is up to us as it can teach/show the limitations that we have put up in our own world.

My biggest fear during my life journey was the fear of uncertainty. I feel that the first surgery I underwent was the exact source of it. It was the first time that I weighed all options of my life as a human for the survival with the support of my loved ones. As a result, I became a meticulous person filled with mental flow diagrams via forward analysis for any given uncertain situation. Time to time, whenever I face uncertainty which is really out of my control, I challenge myself to control the way I respond to uncertainty, thanks to my planning skills in the project of LIFE.

The following quote from a self-help book called ‘A Return to Love’ by Marianne Williamson has been useful when I face fear in my life.

Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? ….…And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.” — Marianne Williamson

According to my knowledge, I feel that what matters here is not ‘what’ we fear but ‘how’ we choose to deal/overcome by accepting it as a natural ingredient of our functional life.
