MY "BIG THREE"

MY "BIG THREE"

THREE is the maximum number of areas in my life I can spend substantial time on a daily basis to produce massive results in the mid- and long term. Not four, not five but three. It's a simple zero-sum game: I only have a certain number of waking hours available per day and I have to decide how much time I am willing to spend on what - like every other human being on earth - duh. My BIG THREE are sweating for at least one hour per day, developing original content for Gustav, and spending time with my six year old son. I am trying to do all three things daily - even if that means that I have to rush home for dinner for one hour to see my son, and going back to the office. The key is to keep the momentum in all three areas going. Expertise research states that the only way to get exceptionally good in any area is to spend massive time on a very small and tightly defined area over a long period of time. I personally chose sports, my job and my son because these three aspects of my life are the ones that affect my satisfaction in life the most. Don't get me wrong, I also do other things and spend time with other people, but not as consistently and therefore not as intensively as I spend time on my BIG THREE. For me there can only be THREE because they are rooted in my own definition of leading a successful life: being as healthy as long as possible, being really good at a job I profoundly enjoy doing and that is meaningful to others, and being a loving parent who supports his child developing his own definition of success in life.

Let me ask you one question: What are YOUR BIG THREE?
