My Ambition in the Business Field

My vision from a high school senior to present was to make a difference in the life of others.

 My Life’s Bio

My goal in life from an early age was to be in the business field. As a senior in high school I applied for a scholarship to Durham Business College after reading up on various affordable colleges and the scholarships that were available for new students. I was awarded a scholarship to Durham Business College in Durham NC. I was interested in this college because the college and city had the same last name as my self, which is Durham. Some of the students there wanted to know if I had any connection with this business college. Of course I told them “no” because the college got its name from the City of Durham, NC. Which was the home of North Carolina State University at Durham and Duke University was not far away.

  I was inspired at Durham Business College to completed General Office/Secretarial and IBM Keypunch Operator courses, which is a field in Computer Data Processing. My first job was at Southern Bell Telephone Company as a Long Distance Operator. My 2nd job was at Liberty Life Insurance Company, Headquarters. I also worked at C. Douglas Wilson Mortgage Co. in the HUD Department, where I recertified house payments of people on Government Housing Assistance. I worked for 6 years as Pricing Department Secretary at Bigelow Sanford Headquarter in Greenville, SC. I continued my education at Limestone College in Gaffney, SC where I received my BS Degree in Management Science.

 I retired from Michelin Americas Research and Development as an Administrator Assistant after 17 years of service. I am now working a few hours a week as Financial Database Administrator at my church.

 I thank God that I accomplished what I set out to do from a senior at Bryson High School. I now host a Professional Business Network on LinkedIn on the internet where I have 3000 followers.

 I am now renewed, rejuvenated and re-motivated to push forward on the road to being a great influence in the business world; May God grant me strength, wisdom and vision to meet every challenge life sends my way.
