My AIESEC Global Volunteer Exchange

Reflecting on my university days, one memory stands out vividly: the exciting opportunity to go on an exchange program to Brazil. The moment I received that email, my heart raced because I knew how cool it would be. One week after that email landed in my inbox, I found myself at an AIESEC info session, captivated by the promise of adventures and meaningful impact. Attending the information session only solidified my decision – I embarked on my journey to Brazil with AIESEC, and it was one of the best decisions I ever made.

And just like that, I was bound for Florianopolis, Brazil, as part of the Global Volunteer program. Teaching English and Spanish, contributing to the Sustainable Development Goal #4, Quality Education. Over six transformative weeks, I not only taught English and Spanish but also absorbed invaluable lessons about community, culture, and compassion.

Florianopolis wasn't just about sandy beaches and breathtaking views (although those were pretty amazing too). It was about immersing myself in a vibrant culture, forging friendships with people from all over the world, and being humbled by the resilience of the local community. Those six weeks were a crash course in cultural immersion and personal growth, and I wouldn't trade them for the world! It definitely changed the way I view the world.

Fast forward to post-graduation, and I was seeking more AIESEC adventures. I embarked on a Global Talent exchange to Greece and later to Romania because I was hungry for more of the skills and knowledge I had gained through my AIESEC experiences abroad.

I hope that every AIESEC member gets the chance to explore the world, but it saddens me to see that the pandemic has significantly reduced the number of members who have experienced exchange programs. The very low number of exchanges underscores the urgent need to reignite the essence of AIESEC – Peace and Fulfillment of Humankind's Potential through cross-cultural exchange.

That's why we've launched the Legacy Fund IXP Campaign. Our goal? To sponsor five AIESEC members for Global Volunteer exchanges this summer. But we can't do it alone. We need your support. ????

Scholarship recipients

By donating to the Legacy Fund, you'll be empowering the next generation of AIESEC leaders to embark on life-changing journeys. Your contribution will cover exchange fees and flights for deserving members from diverse backgrounds and local committees.

So, to all you fabulous AIESEC alumni out there, let's band together and make a difference. Whether you donate, spread the word, or simply share your own AIESEC stories, your support can help turn dreams into reality! ??

Let's keep the AIESEC spirit alive, one exchange at a time.
