My 6th Anniversary at TAL Group
August 1st, 2012.
I was 21 years old. A shy, quiet, timid girl who had entered the doors at the TAL Group. Not knowing anyone, anything about the tech industry, and definitely not about what kind of ride I was in for. All I did was sit at a desk in the corner, working on admin duties for the tech team. I barely talked to anyone...maybe just a couple of people. I would the leave the office at 5pm and catch my go train to go home, and repeat it again every day after that.
August 1st, 2018.
Fast forward to 6 years. I am now 27 years old. I know have knowledge in both the tech and pharmacy industries. I am now what they call the "social butterfly", and now it feels like I run the place. That is because I am know the office admin/reception. I am the "go to girl", if you want to call it that. The ride I have been on for the past 6 years has been interesting and very bumpy. Not only do I wear many, and I mean many hats (office admin/reception, tech recruiter support, just to name a couple), but also, I have dealt with lot of things, from personal issues, to frustration, meltdowns and etc. But, it makes me appreciate every single day, that I have a job. I thank God everyday for the career I have because a lot of people struggle with getting a job, especially with the economy today.
I have made a lot of special friendships over the past 6 years. It's people that I work with that makes me look forward to going to work, despite the workload I have. I especially look forward to the company functions we have, because it's an excellent way to team build and get together with them outside the office.
Special Message:
I want to thank everyone, especially Management, for 6 incredible years with me. I have learnt so much, and I have taken every weakness and turnt them into my strong suit. I still have a lot to learn, but coming from knowing nothing 6 years ago, I can say that I have come a long way.
I am looking for to many, many more years with the TAL Group, and to see where I will end up. Also, I'm excited to continue this ride!
