How do you feel about
??? setting and tackling big, hairy, ambitious goals?
?? playing in the space of the complete unknown?
?? stretching, pushing, stepping outside and redefining your comfort zone?
If you are anything like me, then you probably love to grow, dream big, create and smash ambitious goals.
But sure as day, as soon as I start thinking about where to next and commit to that next milestone I want to reach, my not-so-beloved friend Mr Overwhelm is dialling up my heart rate by quite a few beats and fear, anxiety and a whole lot of doubt creeps in.
?? What if... I fail?
?? What if... I don't have what it takes?
?? What if... people don't want what I have to offer?
And for a moment (or quite a few moments) I am frozen and stopped in my tracks, VERY tempted to put my next goal to bed, allow the fears to take me back to where it feels safe and NOT jump the cliff.
However, as NOT jumping is simply NOT an option for me AND I'd rather fail and learn a whole lot than not even try - I'm gonna have to buckle up and nip that Overwhelm in the bud.
So how the heck DO we do that?
Great question! Let’s dive into it…
We are all overwhelmed at times, we are all fearful at times, we all just want to go back, ideally, into our comfort zone.?
But remember, there's no growth there!?
Overwhelm, insecurities, fears, doubts, sleepless nights and all of the things… these all come with stepping out (or being pulled out) of our comfort zone.?
What is the formula (well the one I use) to somehow cruise through it?
What are those magic ingredients to help us to move through the overwhelm?
Here are five key magic ingredients that I personally choose to lean into to support myself when I’m feeling overwhelmed:?
Number 1 - Honesty.
Honesty for me is to not pretend:
But to actually put the facts on the table as to how I see it.?
I'm honest with myself about all of my weaknesses and all of the things that I don't know; and I am honest with others, especially with my team and my clients.?
At the end of the day, we are in this together. It's up to us as a team, to continuously figure out life together and learn through the fears and the challenges.?
The more honest we can stay with ourselves and with all of the people around us, the more magic happens and we can actually cruise through the waves.?
Number 2 - Kindness.
Allow kindness to come out. Be extra kind to others and to ourselves.??
When we are harder on ourselves with expectations (being too high) and blame (on ourselves, situations and others), the more we will tend to see things are not happening in the way we want or expect them to be.?
It’s perfectly ok to say "Hey, I don't have my shit together today and it's okay. I embrace it".

We get to embrace it because at the end of the day we're all just humans venturing our way through life, so just be kind.?
Number 3 - Create a Sense of Togetherness.
It’s not us against the world!
Rather, it’s seeking out who else is in the same boat, who can we do this together with??
The more we can pull other people in, share with them what's going on, tap into their minds and just allow ourselves to listen? the more they also want to open up and say, "Hey, he's just like me, she's just like me" and the more we forge a path together.
When we embrace our challenges and our fears, I guarantee there's always something that comes back when we share these with other people. Just gifting our fears to other people will create a much, much stronger bond between us, creating a beautiful sense of togetherness.?
Number 4 - Trust.?
How do we create trust in our path, and in ourselves? Even if we can't see exactly how we can solve something yet?
Here's a question for you, where does every single person's inner wisdom, knowledge and clarity come from?
I will tell you where it is not from:
It comes from us. A quiet and very gentle voice.?
A voice that will guide you through the dark and through the new path that you're creating to build your new, bigger and better comfort zone.?
If we want to grow and if we want to go beyond, it's not our mind that tells us the answers. It's our soul. It's our heart. It’s that voice.
And THAT is trust.
Number 5 - Feeling.
Feeling into whatever is happening around us and noticing, “Am I getting back a feeling of congruence or am I getting a feeling of it's not for me?”.
It's not that easy sometimes in our current world to do, because we like to make data driven decisions.
But like all the magic adventurers, creators, we start by acting on a hunch, we feel into it first.
We have that feeling.
We tap into our intuition.?
We feel that little thing within us, that guides us.
And that feeling is how we make our decisions.?
So my friends, if we want to grow, grow, grow in some shape or form, create more abundance for ourselves and the people around us, and set and reach our goals with ease;? it is all about honesty, kindness, togetherness, trust and feeling.
The five magic ingredients to turn any dream that started with overwhelm into reality.?
Thanks Nina - this was timely !
