Responding to queries from an audience when asked about he doesn't rebuke the attitudes of revolutionary groups.?

According to him, it is not that he is turning a blind eye to activities; he has to look at the issue from a broader view to diagnose what caused the rise of the instigators.

The ex-governor also stated that the high rate of unemployment and poverty is one of the main causes of the rise of instigators.?

“I was speaking to a British minister this morning that we have about 40 percent unemployment (rate) and about 60 percent youth unemployment (rate), young people in their productive age doing nothing. If you have 15 percent unemployment rate in Britain today, you’re going to have massive agitation. Nobody will be able to leave his house.” the ex-governor said.

Obi discussed how he intends to go all out in solving the power sector in the country. He said this while speaking to the audience at Chatham House London.?

“We’re going to turn around the power sector. Nigeria today generates 5,000 to 6,000 megawatts for 200 million people and South Africa, the second biggest in terms of the economy on the continent, 60 million people, generates over 40,000 megawatts, yet, they have declared an emergency in the power sector.”

“I have said it that anyone can generate up to 100,000 megawatts with our licence.”

?

“If a country with 60 million population generating over 40,000MW is declaring emergency on power, what do you think somebody with two million people generating 5,000 to 6,000MW will do? War! ”

?

Responding to queries from the audience on how he plans to attract foreign investors, he disclosed it is just like growing honey to attract bees.?

“As long as you’re pursuing what is right, everybody will go with you”?

“The legislators want development” “ It becomes a problem when you’re pursuing transactional policies which will benefit you or you’re engaging in nepotism.” he concluded.

He also added that provided everyone obeys and abides by Nigeria’s constitution and governance laws, it wouldn't be a case of concern if the legislative chamber would support him or not.?

-OBI POINTS CAUSE OF NIGERIA’S HIGH INFLATION.??

Disclosing his plan and how he intends to collaborate with the Central Bank of Nigeria if elected.

“The CBN governor will maintain his independence, he will be respected. Again, it is not the problem of the person there. The CBN has a role of monitory policy. The fiscal space is like a football field. When somebody who is supposed to play a particular wing is no longer there, you find people playing various wings,” he said.

?

“Replacing Godwin (Emefiele) and putting somebody else there, with that level of fiscal rascality, which is what is fuelling our inflation and our rate of exchange (won’t achieve much result)… these are some of the things we need to cut. As long as the government continues on that fiscal rascality, our situation will not go.” the LP presidential front-runner stated.

The LP presidential front-runner said the borrowing was not an issue, but wasting money on consumption without accounting for it on the country’s development is a waste.?

He cited out top countries in the world that have borrowed and still borrowing, however, what keeps their countries on track is they invest the money borrowed in their economy (production) to avoid inflation crises.?

In his words,

“But what has happened is that when you borrow for consumption, you have a crisis. Nigeria in 2015 had a per capita income of $2,500, we were owing about N15tn. Today, with central bank’s ways and means, we are owing about N75tn, so we have grown that debt profile by over 400 percent. That means that the money we borrowed was thrown away.”

The ex-governor promises to fight corruption which has eaten deep into the country to attract external investors to invest in their economies with citizenship passports.

NNPP presidential front-runner disclosed while speaking at Chatham House, London the reason for the incessant terror in the north was caused by the struggle for the country’s resources for selfish interests.

According to him,?

“Don’t forget, right now as we’re sitting here, instead of 2.2 million barrels of oil, we (Nigeria) are producing just around 1 million to 1.2 million barrels, the remaining 1 million is being stolen by some people. Where are the people? Who are the people? That’s why we need to stop them.”?
