My 3rd Anniversary at Salesforce

My third year as part of the Salesforce Ohana came with lots of change.? Change is inevitable and sometimes difficult, but the mindset we show up with can determine whether the change is positive or negative.? Over the past year,? I’ve had the opportunity to work in a new territory, with a new manager, and enhance my leadership skills.? My success is rooted in the One Salesforce mindset we embrace.? Here are some highlights from this incredible year:?
AI? Oh my!
Working in a new territory introduced me to new connections, expanded my knowledge of regulated industries, and deepened my understanding of AI. Salesforce offers numerous opportunities to stay updated on the latest technologies, use tools ethically, and make a positive impact. If you're starting your AI journey with Salesforce, I recommend exploring this trail.
Learning how to be a Better Leader
I participated in Accelerate, a 12-month leadership development program for those pursuing leadership roles at Salesforce. This program has helped me identify and shift negative behaviors, fostering my growth as a future leader.

Cultural Discovery through Equality Groups
As an active member of Salesforce’s Equality Groups, which support underrepresented communities, I found that the event held by the Latinoforce Group last October was pivotal in embracing my culture.? For years, I've let people make assumptions about my background without correcting them. It's difficult to embrace a culture that was denied to me in childhood as assimilation became a way to avoid stigma. I was born in war-torn El Salvador, known mostly for its beaches and food.
Early in my Sales career when I mentioned my birthplace I received feedback like: “Oh I thought you were Mexican! Is El Salvador something different?” From well-meaning folks who lacked information about Latin America, and the one that stung the most: “Isn’t that where the most dangerous gang in the world got started?? Do you have relatives that are part of that?” Lacking the strength to respond, I stayed silent, let their assumptions hurt me, and avoided learning about my birthplace
Last October, I attended a Latinoforce event at Salesforce where we learned to make pupusas and explored Salvadorian culture. That event helped me reconnect with my background and inspired me to learn more about my birthplace and plan a trip to rediscover my roots.
I’m excited about what the next 12 months will bring to my career and life. Being part of the Salesforce Ohana has been an amazing journey, filled with positive life changes. Thank you, Salesforce, for the incredible ride so far! Lastly, thank you Chris for hiring me and for your fantastic leadership these last 3 years.??#SalesforceOhana #AISkills #LeadershipSkills #BestPlacetoWork
