My 30-Day Surrender Experiment | Part 2
Sharing my surrender experiment has been a meaningful way to document and reflect on my journey as I transition into the next chapter of my life and career. By openly discussing my experiences with surrendering, I cannot only hold myself accountable to my commitment to let go of control and trust the universe but also inspire and encourage others to consider the benefits of this practice in their own lives. Through this process, I have realized that surrendering is not a one-time event but an ongoing process that requires continual self-reflection and mindfulness. As I continue to move forward in my personal and professional life, I know that the lessons and insights I gain from this experiment will be invaluable in helping me navigate the challenges and opportunities ahead.
Welcome to the second chapter of my surrender experiment!
This week, I had the opportunity to experience a different kind of grounding as I spent time at home with my friends, my everyday environment, and my typical work routine. After the excitement and stimulation of being on vacation last week, returning to my familiar surroundings allowed me to sink into a sense of comfort and ease. This shift in environment and company provided a new perspective on the surrender experiment. They allowed me to observe how surrendering can be integrated into my daily life. Throughout the week, I encountered challenges, but with my commitment to surrender, I could navigate these situations more gracefully and effortlessly. Let's dive deeper into the experiences and lessons from this week of your surrender experiment.
Week 2 Highlights
The first 30 minutes of hiking in 32F weather makes you question your life choices. But after you start warming up, you remember that a period of discomfort often comes right before happiness, upgrades, and getting the things you want out of life. So once that warmth hits you, you feel like you are all power and can and will achieve anything.

As a social introvert, I learned 20 years ago that I could satisfy my need for socializing, good food, and being drenched in love if I hosted events in my house. I was in control of the things that mattered, and I felt joy inside and out every time

I hit the snooze button eight times before getting out of bed at 6:40 am. My sleep was trying to take over my schedule with great force, and it succeeded for a while.
***
Today was a test on whether I can be the person I imagine myself being. I am someone who treats others as I want to be treated. I am someone who doesn’t worry about the cost of things since God is my supply. I am someone who navigates her plans to support those whom she loves.

My head was swirling, reprioritizing my list of essential things time and time again. I had to ensure I optimized my fitness, packed in a carry-on for two climates, and remained calm to preserve my energy. I was determined to be good company all day.
