Before You Are A Leader, Success Is All About Growing Yourself. When You Become A Leader, Success Is All About Growing Others. - Jack Welch
The other day, our company had a small development program whose primary focus was on two aspects: developing communication & leadership.?
With a few key individuals addressing the program & influencing the crowd with their mesmeric words, I was allowed to share the stage with them.??
The conversation went deep about a few tips & tricks to help enhance communication skills. And that's where one of our staff asked me a very random and thoughtful question, i.e., what kind of advice would you give to individuals who aspire to become a leader?
Having asked that, I took a deep breath and smiled at the fellow who asked this question. I recalled a past moment when I was asked a similar question.
Great leaders have multiple qualities, and that's what makes & shapes them.
Based on my experience and several formal leadership courses, I was able to advise.
Here's what I conveyed.
Be Kind
Kindness is a vital quality exhibited by a successful leader. Individuals who aspire to become leaders shall understand the essence of kindness. Being kind to not only the people you know but also those you don't create a sense of impression about you in their minds, shaping you as an unforgettable leader.?
Note: Some stranger somewhere around the corner will still remember you because of your kindness.

Give Respect Get Respect
The most standard attribute detected in leaders is the power to show respect, kindness, and care to every individual.?
Life's experience has taught me that giving respect is equally paramount to gaining the respect that helps you build a successful connection with individuals.?
That being said, these are the fundamental points I always keep in mind:?
Stay Transparent And Available
Don't hide behind closed doors functioning on new techniques and methods. Don't eradicate all the existing processes and kill old systems—at least not immediately.?
Step around, get to understand people, and allow them to know you as well. Ask questions and listen patiently.?
With this, you'll discover unique things, better comprehend your most significant resource—your people—and let them know how much you value them.
New leaders continuously can begin well—they just need to heed the advice of those who have already become prominent leaders.
