My 3 Top Tips To Loving Your Headshots.

Of all the people I have photographed (and there's been a few!) I have only met ONE who was super excited about being photographed.
Let me just say, they were the exception to the rule because most of us humans find the prospect extremely daunting and would rather not, thanks.
But in today's world where so much of our lives happen online including doing business, it's necessary to be seen and to show others who we are.
So how do we get there?
Here are my top tips to help you:
1. Find a Professional.
We all love a bargain don't we? But I don't recommend skimping on your business photographs because most likely, it's going to cost you twice. The best way to find a professional in my opinion is word of mouth. If you see someone's headshot in your network and the style appeals to you, ask them who their photographer was/is. Look at the photographer's website for more examples of their work and to learn more about them. If you like what you see, call them and talk to them about what you're looking for. A professional will have a process that is simple, clear and not stressful. Most importantly, they'll be able to put you at ease and answer any of your concerns.
2. Wardrobe Guidance.
The photographer you choose should be able to provide you with suggestions on what to wear based on the look and feel you want to achieve. Some, like me, offer personal styling services as an add on. I always recommend this for clients who'd like a complete image refresh or are stepping into a new role and need their wardrobe updated. Personal styling services can really strengthen the impact of your photographs and for clients who more than one or two headshots, it's definitely the way to go.
3. Invest in a Professional Hair and Makeup artist.
Most professional photographers work with hair and makeup artists so can organise this for you. I always recommend this added service (even for men) because not only will it help you look your absolute best it will also give you a lot of confidence in front of the camera. #lookgoodfeelgood
Having spoken to a lot of people, the number one concern when it comes to having photographs taken is the result. That is, we want to like what we see and feel confident sharing it with the world. So next time you're thinking of updating your business photographs, seek the services of a professional portrait photographer. They'll guide you every step of the way to ensure the outcome you want so you're loving your headshots!
