My 3 Months #WFH Experience As Glintstars!

I was a final semester student who was really enjoying last days of uni life at that time. My plan was to spend my winter break in Indonesia from January to February then return to Ningbo, China. Suddenly, the corona virus outbreak messed up many people's plans. including me. Not being able to go back to China for my final semester really made me sad, disappointed, mixed feelings. I have to finish some classes and do the final defense from home. This virus has spread throughout the world very fast. Including Indonesia. The number of people infected keep increasing. Thus, everyone are encouraged to stay home to reduce the spread of the corona virus. I know that this quarantine period will be long. I don't want my time to be wasted because of this pandemic. Finally, I decided to apply for an internship to several companies. I haven't graduated yet at that moment, so I decided to look for an internship.
I signed up to several job platform and one of them is Glints. I look for the internship opportunity using Glints platform and sent my application to several companies. Never crossed my mind before to apply for an internship program at Glints. Until I saw that Glints Indonesia is looking for Marketing Acquisition Intern. The job description is interesting so I decided to applied. In less than a week, suddenly there was a call from the Glints’ talent acquisition. His name is kak Abim. He explained the scope of work and asked me some questions. It was very nice talking to him, because it didn't feel like we were almost 40 minutes on the phone. Few days later, I got a call again from Glints, but this time from kak Fia. She is also a talent acquisition at Glints. Kak Fia asked If I was interested to be transferred to B2B Marketing position instead of Marketing Acquisition because she said my background is more suitable for that position. After she explained the job description and responsibilities, I became even more interested for this position. Long story short, kak Fia invited me to do an interview with the user. That was the first time I met virtually with kak Fia and kak Michael (my user). Kak Michael was very friendly and enthusiastic during the whole interview and it made me feel comfortable and not nervous. Few days later, kak Fia called me again and gave me a really good news that I passed the interview and asked when I can start the first day. The recruitment process at Glints was very smooth and fast. Got me very excited to start my first day as a B2B Marketing Intern at Glints.
I joined the growth department, in the product marketing division (employer side). There aren't many people in this team but we do a lot of things and I think that's really cool! First week as a B2B Marketing Intern at Glints was very tough. I admit it. I have to learn and adapt to so many unfamiliar things. But thank God, my fellow interns and users are very helpful and supportive. I finally got through my first week because of their unconditional support. I work closely with kak Michael, kak Savira, kak Malla, Jeremy Sevi, and Ivo in this division (although Jeremy and Sevi finished their internship not long after I joined and then I finish my internship not long after Ivo joined). My responsibilities as a B2B Marketing Intern at Glints are: 1) Supplying curated inbound leads database to business/sales team, 2) Managing inbound leads channels, 3) Executing and handling product marketing event (including content making, email, partnership plan, research, promotion initiatives, run Glints Talk webinar), 4) Help executing production of marketing materials, 5) Contribute in customer relation activity, and reporting to the team through NPS (Net Promoter Score) report.
Handling Glints Talk webinar and making NPS report are my favorite tasks because I got a chance to hone my communication skill, negotiation skill, project management skill, and how to be a customer oriented for the growth of the company. I am trusted to handle many tasks even though I am just an intern, and that’s what makes me improve in so many aspects. Being a B2B Marketing intern at Glints required me to be self-driven, reliable, resourceful, multitask and have a growth mindset. My growth game is strong here! Even within 3 months, I have learned so many things that I doubt I could get if interned anywhere else.
I really love the working environment at Glints. Everyone was so nice, helpful, and very supportive toward each other. Everyone wants to see you win and ready to help you grow and that makes me even more eager to learn new things everyday and give the best output. There have been tons of "winning" experiences during my 3 month internship at Glints and I feel proud of myself! From spearheaded to automate some part to maximize the efficiency of the workflow, provide several solutions to the problem, and then dare to be the host of Glints Talk webinar for the first time, until handling end to end Glints Talk regional webinar that gets the most attendants of all the Glints Talk webinars ever, and many other trivial things that I think are still valuable achievements. 3 months of working from home was felt so fast and fun. This is truly a once in a lifetime experience! (Hopefully, because I need human interaction) LOL.
I am very grateful for everyone who I had the opportunity to work with at Glints: kak Michael, kak Savira, kak Malla, Jeremy, Sevi, Ivo, kak Vin, kak Kezia, kak Tito, kak Agung, kak Razi, kak Tyo, kak Marchel, Renal, Ira, kak Freddy, kak Fia, kak Abim and everyone who ever helped me. I hope we can keep in touch and stay connected and hopefully our path cross again someday in the future.
