Mom is in the kitchen making some eggs for breakfast.
And she told me I'm out of apples.
Guess who has to go to the store?
Baby bro is on the bus.
It's fair — 76 degrees here in New York.
Let's talk about my 3 lessons on mistakes.
------------------------------
Jonathan, one of my managers told me this year on May 5th:
"You're not going to learn if you don't make a mistake."
And then I made this mistake:
Not following up with a guest.
It happens.
Rarely.
Here are my 3 lessons on mistakes:
1. Mistakes are learning lessons.
Have you ever watched the show: "The Magic School Bus"?
The teacher, Ms. Frizzle said this often:
"Take chances.
Make Mistakes.
Get Messy."
Why make mistakes?
So you can learn from them.
This is why pencils have erasers.
So you can erase what you wrote.
Unless you have a pen.
Then you can draw a line through it and write on top of it.
Learn from your mistakes.
And share them in a post.
2. Your next mistake will help you learn more about yourself.
I left some comments today.
Some landed well.
Some I will look into.
While playing the song: Imagine Dragons - Believer.
Yes, it's a song worth listening to.
Mistakes help you learn how to improve.
Improve your work.
3. Mistakes are feedback for your growth.
How do you learn?
Mistakes.
How do you grow?
Mistakes.
How do you get better?
You guessed it.
Ask Craig!
Just kidding.
Mistakes.
Document your mistakes and learn what happened.
You get better in the long term when you make a plan.
A plan to take action.
P.S. What was the biggest lesson you learned from your mistakes?

7 个月Agree with your lessons. Perhaps the biggest lesson I've learned is that it's ok to make mistakes. Also, I've stopped defining them as mistakes, because some of the things that I thought were mistakes (in the past), turned out to be blessings in disguise :). Rather, all those things brought us to where we are today. Thank you Craig Davis.
