My 2024 Reflection: A "Dynamic" Year

How would you describe a year in which you lost opportunities?

Not just one or two, but several!

At first, this didn’t make much sense to me. I found myself asking, “God, why?” But now, as I reflect on my experiences, I can confidently say that 2024 has become one of my best years.

If I had to describe 2024 in one word, it would be “dynamic.”

The year was dynamic because it did not go the way I had planned. I don’t start a new phase without a plan, so I always set goals before the year begins. However, God had a different plan altogether, surpassing my expectations and providing me with experiences for which I am truly grateful.

The best part was that I found peace during difficult times. I learned to ask God for the “WHY” in every circumstance, and every answer He provided brought stability to my soul.

God has been incredibly good to me?—?truly!

In 2024:

? I lost certain opportunities, but in the process, I gained stature and learned total dependence on God.

? I received a job offer based on a recommendation. I applied for that job with just one work experience on my CV because it was in a brand-new field of interest. This highlights how intentional God was in ensuring I got the position.

? I was recognized as one of the top 100 Changemakers in Plateau State by the Toyin Wiggins Centre for Leadership and Mentoring Initiative

? I became a co-founder in ITR, and under my leadership, we delivered impactful projects and gained partnership opportunities that amplified our work.

? I successfully managed several projects, including the Fire Summit (Planeteer Alliance), Forging a Career Path 3.0 (Medlabconvo), and ITR Teens Conference 3.0 (Impact Training Room).

?I had more speaking engagements this year, both locally and internationally, giving me the opportunity to impact lives across the globe.

? I became more intentional about my relationship with God, opening doors to clarity and opportunities that will help me thrive in 2025 and beyond.

? I developed strategic relationships that will be instrumental in what God wants me to build in 2025.

? I discovered a new interest that drove me to gain new skills in content creation, including audio and video editing.

? My family, circle of friends, and mentors celebrated significant achievements this year, which was an exciting highlight for 2024.

Sharing every achievement from this year in detail would require a much longer post, so I will stop here.

While reflecting, here are major lessons that stood out for me this year:

1. You can never go wrong by trusting God. This year, I learned to follow His plans, and every need I had was met.
2. Building sustainable relationships comes at a cost. This year, I became more intentional about investing in people, and the results were fantastic!
3. You can only go as far as you can see, and people will only support you to the extent you are willing to grow.
4. Opportunities will not always come knocking at your door; sometimes, you need to knock on doors to make things happen.
5. You must pursue your vision with audacity because people will only take you seriously when they see your intentionality.
6. Judging people based on your perspective can make you lose opportunities. This year, I learned to view people from God’s perspective, which helped me gain strategic networks.
7. Your only competition is your former self, and your goal should always be to become a better version of yourself. No one else is your competition.

That’s it for 2024.

In 2025, I am looking forward to experiencing even more of God’s goodness. It will be a year of greater achievements, especially for those of us who are determined to seize growth opportunities.

We will not remain small.

We will be bold and intentional.
