My 2022 Goals

Every year I come up with some goals and/or new years resolutions and by the end of the year, I completely forget about them. So this article is more meant for me than you. If you need some ideas, feel free to continue reading.

Financial Goals

  1. Reach a 70% Savings Rate ??

Personal Goals

  1. Read at least 20 books ??
  2. Omakase dinner every month ??
  3. Create art every month ??
  4. Take 3+ trips ??
  5. Stick to my miracle morning routine ??

Career Goals

  1. Reach 1,000 YouTube Followers??
  2. Earn 2 certifications ??
  3. Spend 1 hour a day learning (not including weekends) ??
  4. No work on the weekends (except for the occasional major release) ????♀?

Plans to achieve goals

  1. Reach a 70% Savings Rate: Ask for a raise, side hustle, sell my car (currently the used car market is insane and I can get $5k above what I originally paid for!), decrease expenses by switching over to a healthcare plan like Liberty HealthShare, stop eating fast food, stop paying for car insurance, borrow books from the library instead of buying them on Amazon.
  2. Read at least 20 books: The average number of pages in the books I've been reading has been about 300 pages. 300 pages x 20 books = 6,000 pages. 6,000 pages / 365 days = 16.43 pages a day. With my miracle morning routine, this is definitely doable.
  3. Omakase/Tasting menu dinner every month: I'd rather skip a few mediocre dinners for one amazing dinner anytime. Here is the list I have so far: Kata Robata, Kanau Sushi, Jimbocho Den, Shun Japanese, March, Kuu, ReikiNa, Zen, MF Sushi, Ume, Umami, Degust
  4. Create art every month: Joined a quarterly art subscription, Artful, to help me find a hobby. So far I've received a watercolor kit and a soft pastels kit. My handpainted Christmas cards were a huge hit last week (So easy with this amazing YouTube Channel. I'll be saving money on birthday cards and getting my creativity on!
  5. Take 3+ trips: I found an amazing roundtrip flight deal to Japan for $226 (Thanks to Scott's Cheap Flights), but I don't think they will open up in March, so opting for a road trip to some national parks as plan b. Taking a trip to Cancun in April for my friend's wedding (my first Indian wedding AND I'm a bridesmaid ??). 3rd trip will be to Orlando for some Disney fun and to see family. Definitely want to sprinkle in some weekend trips here locally to camp and float the rivers.
  6. Stick to my miracle morning routine: If you haven't read The Miracle Morning or don't have a morning routine, get one, it's a game-changer. Tldr; SAVERS - Silence, Affirmations, Visualization, Exercise, Read, Scribe
  7. Reach 1,000 YouTube Followers: I'm launching a YouTube Channel next week focused on Women in Salesforce. This career has been incredible so far and I want to share how easy it is to pivot into Salesforce. I'm going to TRY to post 1 video a week and post on LinkedIn at least twice a week to build up followers.
  8. Earn 2 certifications: PAB and Service Cloud....maybe SFBA if that gets released next year. Joining the PAB Study Group Live! Sessions held at Talent Stacker hosted by Alex Warneke. It's 10 weeks long so my goal is to take the exam in March. Then I'll give myself 6 months to study for Service Cloud and get my certification in October.
  9. Spend 1 hour a day learning (not including weekends): I will do this through Trailhead, YouTube videos, and random courses I purchase and never finish. I spent $4,400 on Education last year (not even including all the books I purchased)! ??. Last year I had this on my list and said I would just do it at the end of the day. Yeah, terrible idea, I was so mentally drained, I never got to it. Moving my learning hour to the mornings this year.
  10. No work on the weekends (except for the occasional major release): I am constantly fighting this urge to fill the void of free time and honestly not taking a break is doing more harm than good. I've asked my boyfriend to help me with this part.

Thank you if you are still reading this! If you have any advice or anything that could help me achieve these goals, please share in the comments. Also, I would love some book recommendations!

Hi Anita. Happy New Year. This book might resonate with you: Bring Inner Greatness Out: Personal Brand is available in ebook, paperback, hardback, and audiobook formats. It's my interdisciplinary answer to the massive job instability problem I have been observing for the last 40 years. I spent 2020 and 2021 writing, recording and publishing and the book also contains guidance someone needs to publish their own books and audiobooks. https://www.amazon.com/Bring-Inner-Greatness-Out-Personal/dp/1087905311 If you want author signed color hardback, you can order here: https://www.cybersecurityleadership.com/buy.html My YouTube channel and my podcast has tons of free educational materials also.
