My 2020 reading list!!

My 2020 reading list!!

As we are wrapping up 2020, thought of sharing my reading list for this year. 2020 was a great learning experience in itself which taught me gratitude and the deeper meaning of life. Working in the public sector and on various social-economic cause-driven initiatives, I was able to correlate many of the examples given by Simon in his book — Infinite Game very well. As I am aspiring for my moonshots, Safi nicely explained the loonshots approach to achieve these moonshots. It was really inspiring to read various examples of decision-making abilities from Bob Iger and strong willpower from RBG. Thanks, Elsbeth Johnson for teaching leadership skills to deliver strategic change in our organizations. Sian Beilock revealed the science behind choking under pressure and how can we avoid it. What matters most is principles of integrity, gratitude, positive relationships, embracing vulnerabilities to measure happiness in our life. Once you adopt a good habit, the results of the compounding effect are astonishing. Well, here's my books list:

  1. The Ride of a Lifetime by Robert Iger
  2. The Infinite Game by Simon Sinek
  3. Good to Great by James C. Collins
  4. Loonshots by Safi Bahcall
  5. How Will You Measure Your Life? by Clayton M. Christensen
  6. The Compound Effect by Darren Hardy
  7. Step Up, Step Back by Elsbeth Johnson (Thanks, Elsbeth Johnson for gifting this book)
  8. The Power of Vulnerability by Brené Brown
  9. Notorious RBG by Irin Carmon
  10. Choke by Sian Beilock (Thanks to Daena Giardella for this book recommendation)

I have following 2 books started and hoping to finish them soon.

  1. A Promised Land by Barack Obama
  2. Principles by Ray Dalio (Thanks to Kurt Ehrig for gifting this book)

Special thanks to Derek Christensen for all the motivation and for sharing his reading techniques.

What's your favorite read this year?

Hey Jagjit! Awesome list! - something for me to aspire to in 2021! Hope you enjoy Principles when you get around to reading it.

Such a great list! Read a few of them already and adding others to my list. As a side note, I had the privilege of working with Sian on her TEDMED talk. If you enjoyed her book —you’ll enjoy her talk as well. Linking it here: https://www.ted.com/talks/sian_leah_beilock_why_we_choke_under_pressure_and_how_to_avoid_it/up-next
