My 2020 non-virtual board game arena

Lockdown and work from home has encouraged varied new habits in different people. In me, it awakened the desire to scour the games world.
I was keen that it didn’t have anything to do with the internet or increase my screen time and also allowed quality time with my kid. Most pertinent, the instruction set couldn’t be huge. Game makers indeed need to grapple with shorter time spans in the modern world.
Above are a few that caught my attention and I have returned to play them with great enthusiasm several times now. In this 'playful' journey, I also discovered how logical thinking, agility for decision making, strategic thinking are all mindsets that can be continually challenged and developed. Even if a game seems easy in the beginning, it is only as easy as a competitor will allow it to be - an important learning in our professional lives “to simply not rest on skills learned in the past”.

Excellent, the lockdowns have allowed us to rediscover the child within us and those at home ??! Scrabble remains a vintage favourite.
