My 2019 Thankful List

Every year at this time, I take the time to list the things I am most thankful for. Here is this year's edition.

My life partner. Cheryl, you continue to be my greatest ally and biggest critic. I need both. As you enter this next phase of your life, my wish is that we continue to grow, learn and enjoy what lies before us.

My family. There is no greater joy as a parent than to be part of our children's lives. This year was full of forward progress, great experiences and new adventures. I'm truly grateful to be here with them.

My grandchildren. One of the most satisfying parts of my life now is enjoying time with the three "little people" in my life. They remind me to be present and give me hope for the future.

My health. I continue to be blessed with good health. Having said that, I've worked hard to change my lifestyle and keep fit. I'm more conscious than ever of how much runway I have left.

My age. I know this sounds weird, but I have a greater appreciation what life has taught me. My accumulated experiences make it easier for me to accept my true mission.

My enthusiasm. My passion for my craft, my content and my contribution still drives me. It still feels good to get up every day with a purpose. The bonus is that others seem to feel the same way.

My future. If one more person asks me if I'm retired, I'm going to slap her/him upside the head. I plan to keep learning, living and loving every second I'm here. I'm grateful for every day.
