My 10 Favourite BrewDog Moments So Far

It has been a pretty crazy ride since we set up BrewDog in 2007.?Incredible growth, high highs, low lows, successes, challenges and everything in between. We have definitely made some mistakes along the way but we have also done some remarkable things as a team since we set out on a journey to revolutionise the world of beer 15 years ago (or 105 dog years ago)

Here are my 10 favourite moments from the journey so far:

The BrewDog BluePrint & Fifty-Fifty - 2022

In May 2022 we released the BrewDog BluePrint, our vision for our next 15 years, where we announced that I would be giving 20% of my holding in BrewDog, worth approximately ￡100 million at our last valuation, to the team.

As part of The BluePrint we also unveiled a ground-breaking new business model for hospitality whereby our BrewDog bars now share 50% of their profits evenly with the amazing people who work in them.

Carbon Negative - 2020

In June 2022 we officially became the world’s first carbon negative beer business, and committed to removing more carbon from the atmosphere than we emit each year whilst simultaneously making huge investments to reduce our emissions.

Opening BrewDog USA - 2017

In August 2017 we opened our amazing brewery in Columbus Ohio on a beautiful 52-acre piece of land. This was a huge project and a huge gamble for a tiny Scottish brewery but it has turned out to a be big success for us.

Hello My Name Is Vladimir – 2014

In February we took a stand for the values we hold true as we made a beer to protest Russia’s anti-homosexuality legislation at the time of the Sochi Winter Olympics.

Top 100 Places On The Planet – 2020

In 2020 Time Magazine named our US brewery campus which includes our amazing Columbus Beer Hotel as one of the 100 best places on the planet. It was an amazing honour to receive for a flagship project.

?Real Living Wage – 2014

In April 2014, whilst presenting live on stage to 5,000 of our Equity Punk investors, we announced we had became a Real Living Wage employer. Investing in our people is core to everything we believe in.

BrewDog Aberdeen – 2010

In October we opened our first ever bar – BrewDog Aberdeen in our hometown. We wanted to create an amazing beer bar that helped share our passion for great craft beer with as many people as we could. The first bar was a great success and has now led to 120 fantastic locations all over the planet from Berlin to Las Vegas.

The Lost Forest - 2021

In April 2021 we announced that we had purchased almost 10,000 acres in the Scottish Highlands to undertake the largest broadleaf woodland creation and peatland restoration project ever in the UK to help pull carbon out of our atmosphere. Work at the Lost Forest is now underway.

World Beer Cup - 2010

In November 2010, in Chicago, BrewDog won the gold medal at the world beer cup in the hotly contested double IPA category with Hardcore IPA. It was like winning the 100 metres at the Olympics and it sent shockwaves through the beer scene and firmly put BrewDog on the map. Fast forward to this year, Lost Lager won World's Best International Lager at the World Beer Awards! We remain fiercely committed to making the very best beer we can and Lost Lager has helped introduce a new demographic to the joys of craft. ?

Equity Punks Tomorrow – 2020

With Equity Punks Tomorrow we set a global world record for equity crowdfunding. We also pioneered a whole new generation of crowdfunding where every penny invested in the round went directly to helping us save our home planet through sustainability initiatives.
