MWC 2024 – even better than before
Last year’s event was an enormous success for us with the launch of our new brand and positioning. Having said that, this year, I enjoyed Mobile World Congress even more. There was a perceptibly different tone to customer conversations, with everyone invested in buckling down and working together to navigate the future. Engagements were incredibly positive and to the point, focused on automation and monetization, with customer feedback centered around collaboration and creating value going into the future.
Our 5G core got plenty of attention, with many people excited about Core Software as a Service. Equally popular solutions were our end-to-end automation, private wireless and API exposure to drive monetization with our Network as Code. All of these resonated with our customers as solutions to real-world problems they are trying to solve, and they saw our key capabilities on display as more than 700 groups toured our booth.
Another area that pulled a lot of focus was what to do with the hot topic of GenAI. As the excitement around this topic continues to grow, there is a genuine interest to distill it into something tangible we can embrace together as we go forward. The launches of our Cybersecurity Dome telco agent and our MX Industrial Edge Workmate solutions were proof of how we’re making it real as we journey into the world of GenAI, and these fueled marvelous interactions with our customers.

There was a lot of appreciation for our cloud strategy progress, partnering with Redhat and continuing to grow our hyperscaler relationships. We had nine solutions in various partner and customer booths, emphasizing our collaborative work with the larger ecosystem. We also supported the Open Gateway hackathon with our Network as Code platform. GSMA and Mobile World Live selected forty-eight developers to participate, and our solution proved its resilience as 12 teams competed to develop the best application over two days.
It was marvelous to have the opportunity to engage in social networking with so many partners and customers. Celebrating successes together and building deeper relationships are substantial parts of events like this. I am grateful for the pragmatic and sincere conversations on working through the challenges in front of us together and the opportunity to work together even closer. There is certainly plenty to do as we move ahead.
