I attended America's largest and most influential connectivity event, MWC conference here in Las Vegas in partnership with CTIA.
I had the amazing opportunity to meet like-minded professionals, entrepreneurs, SMBs, and enterprise level businesses.
The #MWClasvegas2023 in partnership with #CTIA was a 3-day event that took place at the #LasVegasConventionCenter West Hall. Businesses from all over the world came together to network and make connections.
Day 1 - Main Exhibit Hall
With a conference as large as @MWClasvegas2023 it was important that I maximized my time and that I made the connections that were relevant to my business and the services and/or products that would add value to my business and vice versa.
The main hall was where all the exhibitor booths were. I always enjoy booths that use lead generation interactive activities with prizes to draw attendees to their booths. #TMobile for Business was my first stop with its metaverse style virtual presentation of the #lasvegasspeedwayonthestrip that was so lifelike that I felt like I was a part of the presentation. The brand-colored pink race car for participating was a cool prize too. @T-Mobile inner booth workshops on the latest advancements that #TMobile is rolling out using 5G technology and AI were also impressive.
Exhibitors and fellow attendees that made a great impression that I would like to give a social media shoutout to:?
·???????? #Airgain with their Lantern FWA product where you can use Lantern as a replacement for wireless internet connectivity.

Having a strategy so that you visit exhibitor booths, attend relevant workshops, and network with fellow attendees is key to maximizing your time when attending events. MWC's in app digital planner was a great tool that I was able to use to save the workshops that were relevant to my business so that I wouldn't miss them.
Key takeaways on day 1: 5G and AI have enabled businesses to do amazing things with technology. The term "in the cloud" was a second language when networking and attending workshops at the conference.
#StartUpVegas at the HUB StartUp Stage throughout the day presented relevant topics that are essential for businesses to start with impact, grow with grace, excel through challenges, and pivot with beneficial success. I was grateful to have attended #MWC because I became aware of a gem that I didn't even know existed in Nevada. @StartUpVegas is where every small business in Nevada should connect and utilize all resources that have been made available for startups, particularly in Nevada.
Startups were given the opportunity to present their business to a panel of venture capitalists, receive feedback, and support. This was a great opportunity for me because it restored my confidence in what I'd accomplished thus far. I didn't present to a whole panel, I had a conversation with members of the StartUp Vegas team that told me that I was on the right track, I'd done everything that I was supposed to do to position my business, and that I was ready for investors and/or funding.
Stage Highlight: Fireside Chat: Why is Building Your Personal Brand Important to the Success of Your Company? Presented by Sarah Evans, Founder & CEO, Sevans PR
·???????? In my own words not Sarah's. I can't stress enough the importance of building your personal brand and how it impacts your business when you have a well-executed brand strategy. Not just verbally answering the question 'what do people get when they get you?' But showing people who you are, what you are about, and what matters to you. What you show will answer that question. Tying what you are showing to what your business offers will then come together.
·???????? For me I realized that I had to build my personal brand because as an introvert and 'plain Jane' it was becoming a challenge to present my business to prospective clients from a 'these are the types of services that Shinedelight? offers' without the prospective client looking at me to see what they'd be getting if they utilized my business's services.
·???????? So, I had to make some changes in my appearance that didn't take away from who I am, but that added to my personality. I am not a makeup person I like the natural look across the board. However, I will wear lipstick, eyeliner, and eye shadow on occasion. I colored my hair because the gray hair had its own connotations that I wasn't aware were translating.
·???????? Adding to my wardrobe apparel pieces that accentuate my outfits. I am a jean and a t-shirt or sundress type of person. So, I added blazars, blouses, and jewelry to my outfits for a business professional, business casual, or Sunday best look.
·???????? Posting engaging videos and content on my personal social media that shows me actively working 'on' my business and authentically living and not just posting to post.
·???????? Publication interviews that tell my story as a business owner and why I started Shinedelight? Enterprises.
·???????? Engaging in community in authentic ways that draws attention to the cause that I am supporting and not to myself. I like to help and volunteer. I don't need to be seen helping. I don't need to take pictures of how I helped or who I helped.
Overall, understanding that I am my brand and that what I present reflects my business will continue to drive strategies for me to execute in my personal life.
Networking events began after 3 pm at exhibitor booths. Fruit and vegetable appetizers, drinks, cheese trays, tacos, and more were served. Now, FYI, if you hear the words IP and beer in the same sentence unless you are a hard-core beer drinker, run (lol). T-Mobiles IP beer had everyone that drank it super ready for networking or super excited to push the button at the bottom of the cup lol.
The night ended with the main rooftop networking event where we got a front view of the #lasvegassphere, an opportunity to connect with more like-professionals, and to meet the exhibitors outside of their booths.
